IMHO Managers/Coaches should have a similar option as in NFL in America:
If they believe that a poor decision (i.e. Penalty given) has been made by the Referee, then they should be allowed say 2 x 'Challenges' per game.
Then all the Referees on the pitch can view a replay & reverse the decision if warranted - this would also stamp out 'diving' as players would then be viewed as 'simulating' & Yellow Carded.
That example today was a disgrace & changed the game for Croatia!

Got some late nights coming up - although Power outage on Sunday Morning 8am to 11am means no Italy v England Game for me :(
Will miss Spain v Holland & Australia v Chile due to Swimming Training for the Boy as well - will 'tape' them & try not to look or Hear Media Reports 8)

Was it me, or were there vacant/unfinished seats next to the 'blue' Media Centre in Sao Paulo today?
Glad Oscar scored - got him $67 Eachway for Golden Boot :)
Stephen Trigg & Rob Chapman are SA Football Patriots

Me too
Watched most of last nights farce of a game, until the penalty that never was, and turned it off. Apart from England's 3 games I won't bother watching any other games. International Soccer has turned to shit and it's getting worse every year

Yep brilliant effort who would have thought a rebuilding aussie side could ever push the 3rd best South American side

Not a huge soccer fan and to be honest don't know a hell of a lot about the game but things I took out of the game were

- Aussie Captain is stupid with how many fouls he gives away
- As good as Cahill is he needs to stop sooking and worry about the next ball in
- Leckie looks really good. Is he the one that played for Adelaide?
- Australia look a lot better than I thought they were.
- I like the look of Triosi

All in all the result is what I was after as I have a Multi Brazil into Chilli into The Dutch into Spain all against Australia obviously except Brazil.

Slightly off

Mile Jedinak is a holding defensive midfielder, playing against a south American side who hit the deck with any contact and the fact that it was a conscious Australian plan to slow the tempo down meant he was always going to give away a lot of frees. The Aussies strength is their set pieces so any time we slowed the Chileans down and made them take a free kick was a win for us.

On Cahill, its a completely different culture in soccer compared to aussie rules when it comes to refs. Having played a split of football and soccer its incredibly different how much more you can get away with in soccer when it comes to abusing/critiscing the ref. I think this comes from the fact that every decision can be decisive so putting pressure on the ref and making them aware of all the contact is used as a tactic moreso than anything.

Leckies second half was outstanding but him and Franjic were terrible in the first 15 minutes which we got battered.
