I think so! All the training is done so lets hope it helps for the event. I'm not going out for any PBs or trying to win or anything like that, just want to finish. In saying that, I would like to come in under 7 hours but we will see...this distance is new territory for me.

Fair to say I am getting very nervous.

Did you do your Corporate Cup run today or starting to rest up for you big run?

I took 31 seconds off my best time, am almost under 36 minutes now for the 8.15km

Nice time keefy!
Yeah I gave it a miss this week and did a 8.5km run through Brownhill Creek just to keep the trail legs going. No more runs for me until Sunday now!

well it was by far the hardest thing I have ever done...finished bang on the 8 hour mark. Hoping for closer to 7 but not to be.
Next year I will definitely increase the workload before it...I think the last 25kms hit me hard as I had never trained over 24kms
feet are covered in blisters but otherwise legs are not too bad considering. Its only when I go to get up from the couch they hurt!

Well done, It's an achievement just finishing Yurrebilla
I would suggest 2-3 runs of at least 35-40km to get you ready next year.
Couple more days you will be good as gold and you will forgot what you went thru.
Next year if all goes well Yurrebilla is my No 1 goal.

Already keen as for next year mate! Soreness has kicked into another level today which was what I was expecting. It only hurts when I move
Agree with that type of training pels, definetly more longer runs in the weeks beforehand. I got a bit distracted with city-bay and corporate cups this year so next year I will at least drop the corporate cup. I want to keep city-bay cause it will be the first year I can run as a sub 60 runner :)

I was actually disappointed I had to miss out this year due to Yurrebilla being too close to Melbourne.
Setting goals keeps me focused with my running.
The wife reckons I'm crazy

Run went well, finished up doing 3.29.37.
PB by 8 mins so am very happy. Last 3-4kms were very tough.
Don't wanna think about running for a few weeks now.

How's everyones running been going lately? I am in a mini rutt at the moment. I guess with nothing to directly train for the motivation is low. Still getting out 2-3 times a week but not putting in as much effort as usual.

Have had 3 weeks off running, body feels good and mentally feel refreshed.
Have done 3 easy runs of 7km at lunch this week.

Its normal your motivation is a bit low so long your still getting out there and running.

Next goal for me will be 6FT marathon, hardest part about that is getting an entry.
