1 v 9: Compass over Creek @ Compass
3 v 8: Ebay over Pongy @ Ebay
4 v 6: Willunga over Magpies @ Goolwa
5 v 10: Victor over Vale @ Vale
2 v 7: Strath over Yank @ Strath

Not taking any risks there Animus ;)
There is always inevitably at least 1 upset a round, just not sure which game it will be?
Maybe Goolwa / Port Elliot over Willunga ?

Good tipping Animus.
Goolwa, Vale and Yank all came close to causing an upset, but the favorites held their nerve whilst Bays smashed Myponga in the last term after wayward kicking for goal kept the Larks in it til 3/4 time.
Mt Compass had a training run against the Creek, smashing them to the tune of 111 points.

What's your thoughts JJ? Creek missing guys or are compass wow?
It does seem like last years GF competitors are on the march to meet again.
Mclaren were much better than their one win shows. At 3/4 time they had their tails up and I thought they were looking at 2 in a row.

Creek have a few players out as all teams do but apart from coach Lally, no one of any significance that would make much difference.
Creeks tried hard all day but their bottom 5 or 6 players are young guys that arnt up to A Grade standard yet and combined with a lack of height and a key target up forward since keeley has gone, they are getting exposed in too many areas around the ground. Compass obliterated the Creeks in centre clearances and with the frequency that the ball was streaming forward, the Creek defenders probably did well to restrict the Dogs to 22 goals. Inaccuracy by the dogs also prevented that tally being higher.
Compass look to be the real deal and surely must be favorites for the flag and break their 36 year premiership drought.

JJ from what I heard yesterday we all are in your debt when other clubs down the hill have an abundance of Junior colts but turned their backs the Mighty Hawks put up their hands and helped out with some great little players. To see the Juniors win 4 games so far and who knows could sneak a finals spot wouldn't that be awesome for the young fellas :D To the good ol boys who had the truck all fired up with planks and nails to board up our club you can stick that where the DAYLIGHT don't shine  woof woof

Bit quiet on here of late. Good to see GSFL give SFL another pasting.

Rumour has it Ziggy Vitkunas is sick of playing in the 2's at the bay. Where do you fit him into Compass forward line? What happened in Compass 20-24 years ago to get so many giant local kids running around playing footy? Must have been a couple productive Compass Cups in January.

MID SEASON PREDICTION

Gf to be Compass vs a red and white team
Ziggy Vitkunas to return in next 2 weeks and kick 8 in the gf
Peter Galbraith to hold the cup aloft
And another compass committee member to get pissed and make a dick of them selves
Ebert for mail medal cos the umpires can't miss his massive head
Ben Moore to be sacked
premierships is what it is all about

I'm guessing by the question he's not coaching the creek and has already got the arse
Or are the creeks flying and I've got no idea (which is possible)
premierships is what it is all about

Left at the end of last year to be an assistant at Glenelg and I'm pretty sure Angus Lally took over. A lot of kids that went through their junior system playing in the ones, and they've had a few wins, I wouldn't say his jobs in doubt at all

Pretty hard to distinguish between Yank and Myponga players on Saturday. Both had dark jumpers, yellow numbers on the back, yellow sash and 'v' on the front and with the sun setting low early it was pretty hard for specators and I'm guess players alike to distinguish one from another. Hopefully one of the clubs make a decision to change it up next time.

Does any other club other than Langhorne Creek have a "Clash" jumper ?

Surely one of the worst clashes ive seen is when Strath play Willunga.
One wears Red & White whilst the other wears White & Red

Surely it wouldnt be that hard for one to wear ALL Red and the other ALL White?

McLaren cant take a trick and look destined for the spoon.
Leading by 33 points early in the last quarter and looking all over a winner, the Creeks burst to life slamming on 6 - 2 to Nil from that point on to grab a 5 point win in the last minute of the game.

Willunga and Bays having a DRAW has enabled Strath to leap frog into 2nd spot

Goolwa easily over Victor?

GSFL really is full of surprises week in week out.
