They reckon that the presser was one of the most ordinary slap in the face to supporters pressers you will see. Refused to state why he was sacked and dodged all questions!

maybe the first team kicked out of the AFL for bringing the league into disrepute?

Gee what a shock that another club surviving on AFL handouts can find the money to pay out a coach, $400-450k handout coming their way.
Im glad our fine is being put to good use

I agree. 2 Melbourne based teams to relocate in the next decade. Afl would love to have a team in NZ. The other to go to Tassie.
St Kilda have a history of poor decisions, poor performances and poor culture. Had their chance in the past 5 years and blew it

That's actually a reasonable point. In Melbourne's case they needed the financial assurance of the AFL in order to sack Neeld.

Just watched a reply of the press conference. Lord help The Saints with that muppet as president.

Melbourne, Brisbane and the Saints all got a decent handout from the AFL this year. Im all for struggling clubs being helped out but not to finance sacking a coach mid contract.
When clubs are in financial trouble the last thing they should be doing is paying out huge sums of money. Will the AFL also pay Chocco's wage they have done with Roos?

So clubs who scab of the afl is acceptable but a club who manages it's list very well and works within the rules is a disgrace!!! Anyways, go swans in 2014

I heard that Pelchen and Watters didn't see eye to eye. For instance, Mcevoy. Pelchen wanted him out, Watters wanted him as part of the rebuilding.

So now it seems Pelchen wins. It must be said, who has more pull, the recruiter or the senior coach?

I have read their article and they're kidding themselves. Two months ago they backed the coach and now they're saying that it's irreconcilable differences between the players and coach. What a mess!

Yep only difference is Swans do it every year and have done so for as long as one can remember, these other teams just do it for a couple years here and there before getting back on their own 2 feet.
Swans have never been able to stand on their own 2 feet, COLA is funded by AFL every year.

Why shouldnt the AFL fund a new coach or the paying out of one mid contract if it is going to do more harm than good to keep them. is alot cheaper for the AFL in the long run.

Anyone think the draw had a bit to do with bringing the sacking forward?
Melbourne and GWS 1st two games. If Saints were waiting for Watters to fail and he wins these two he gets to at least the half way point of the season.
If they lose these two games (IMO they will) he would be sacked immediately so they may as well do it now

The AFL should appoint the new coach then.
Otherwise the AFL will just give them another handout and in 12 months time they will be back in the same position.

Reiwoldt might aswell defect now as St Kilda's premiership window closed when Lyon left, he wasn't stupid ( Lyon ) he saw the ship sinking, infact he played a part in it & is laughing all the way to the bank in the West.
Poor old Reiwoldt has only a few seasons left in the game as a player, he will be another great player who'll retire with no premiership to his name.
Get Mark Williams there & have them playing that brand of footy he had Port Power playing.......

except he's not a great player ... look at all the scandals that have occurred whilst he had been in a leadership position.

If only they had a no dickhead policy ...

Brett Kirk was a better contributor to Sydney than Alpaca Head will ever be at the Saints, and he had nowhere near the talent.

Plus he didn't sook or get his schlong out for photos shoots, or condone hanging out with schoolgirls.

St Kilda will never sort out their culture as the whole club reeks and the stinky bits will always win out in the end.
