No, the sticking point is that Collingwood should get more than just Taylor Adams for a proven gun being offered $750K a year to play. In the end I think it will just be player for player unfortunately.

Shaw will definately get 700-750 although that is way too much for him.
But yes GWS want more than Shaw, they wont give up Adams in a straight swap. Silvagni said that he would rather trade Adams to Geelong for pick 15 than accept Collingwood's offer so far

GWS are bluffing. They already announced Shaw as a signing, and they desperately need an experienced player. They will look like giant fools if they don't seal this, and lose Adams anyway.

decent pun there, WP

and yeah i agree i think it might include a swap for minor picks, like collingwood's second for the giants third or something. the thing is collingwood dont exactly have much bargaining power anyway.

Except for the fact that Shaw is contracted and they don't have to trade.

After getting shafted on the Buddy deal, GWS need this deal and Silvagni is being a flog about it.

So Collingwood dont have to trade Shaw?
Id think the relationship would be pretty frosty, im fairly sure they are trying to run him out of town. Cant see him being at the Pies next year

Oh dear. Still 5 days of trading to go. God forbid Silvagni trying to get some value for his team. GWS are in the box seat. Shaw doesn't want to be at Collingwood, Buckley doesn't want Shaw, Gws can also deal with Geelong.

GWS want a premiership player on a five year $3.5mil deal and want to trade an unproven rookie for him AND want one of Collingwood's picks. Yeah right.

They need Shaw way more than we need Adams.

A Premiership player that the club think is that much of a knob they are trying to piss him off.
FIGJAM always gets what he wants and if he thinks Shaw is a cockhead and wants him gone he will be gone

I thought you would understand market forces. Adams wanted by many. Shaw wanted by few.

It isn't as simple as here is this players stats and achievements, here is the other guys.

Actually, a number of clubs have shown interest in Shaw. Geelong, Carlton, Essendon and GWS obviously.

GWS will have egg on their faces if they can't seal this.
