Surely the bulldogs just tell Essendon to piss off, we will take him in the PSD thankyou very much, would be the icing on the cake for their year.

GWS have shown just enough interest to worry the Dogs. The deal will get done, will be a 3 way where Gumby gets to Freo, Crammers to the Dogs and we get an upgrade on a second and third round pick

Also I could be wrong but I reckon Freo would be safe to take the punt that Gumby will still be there when they get a pick in PSD

Freo have second to last pick in the PSD, I know one Adelaide club is still very interested in him.
I think we will do our best to get him to Freo, Crammeri can rot though

Big win to the Pies, get in a good young kid and send a flog the other way.
Think of all the booze and gear that Shaw can buy in Sydney for $700k

Shaw is no flog. Yeah he gets emotive and demonstrative, but is passionate about footy and I think he can be a good leader for the GWS kids during the back half of his career.

I will remember him for that smother on Rooey in the goalsquare during the GF rematch, hope he guess well at his new club.

Good player but clearly a FLog Q.

Surely not Adelaide?? Because Tex, JPod, Jenkins, McKernan, Lynch and Johnston wouldnt be enough tall forwards....

I'd love Gumby to slide to Port's pick- finally a player that will fill a void!

Yep, 3 way deal involving Freo fell over earlier in the day. Was going to be pick 26 or nothing.
Still can grab something half decent with that pick, not sad to see Crameri go, sounds like he has been planning this since mid year

Polec to Port (Finally!!!)

in a complex 3 way trade involviing GWS and Brisbane, we have sent pick 14 to GWS (brisbane has given them pick 29) and 34 to the Lions, Port will recieve Polec and pick 45 from Brisbane and pick 21 from GWS, and Brisbane recieve pick 22 from GWS and will send them pick 29.

It's good to see the deal go through finally, but I really do hope Polec is worth all the hassle.

A shitload of hassle and hype around a bloke who's only played 16 games in 3 years in an ordinary side.
Get his off field indiscretions and attitude to training on the right track and he may well be worth it.
Until then though.......

Yeah I dont see what the fuss is about. I wonder if St Kilda supporters are making as much of a fuss about getting Delaney. Doubt it.

This is a very true comment, they haven't had someone sitting on the sidelines due to a bad back since Bowen Lockwood.

There is a huge amount of fuss about Polec, I agree, a lot of it from locsl media - I think though its not that similar to the situation with Delaney though.

From what I can tell, a lot of Port supporters think way too much attention was given to him, but he was the only player either local club was seriously chasing (apart from perhaps the Crows chasing Edwards from GWS), so if a port supporter is discussing footy, theres not a lot else really to discuss ar the moment.

Im just glad its done and over with. Its probably a 50/50 chance as to whether he was worth it, which only hindsight can inform us, in about 3-4 years.
