Maybe it is just injury.

Or maybe, just maybe, another run in with Mick (possibly following the outlining of his plans for Duigan next season).

I dunno, is that the sort of scuttlebutt you're suggesting, Q?

Something along those lines.

Good. Should be put in jail too. A single punch to the head can kill someone. There are very few excuses for hitting people, especially a team mate.

Time to grow up Brown

given duigan went from being talked up as a possible captain, to mick coming and him getting 5 games, and then finally coming in in a final and dominating, its not hard to read between the lines and see that he doesnt like mick.

i think the him getting told he wont be playing is a good theory

Duigan's retirement is part of Mick's cunning plan to promote Wood!

Something fishy going on here.

Elaborate...

Lets just say Nick was having a few frothies after the SANFL GF with a few of the lads and described Mick as a c**t and several other comments were made.

Good, I think the same of Mick too.

Incredible. A player who isn't rated by his coach and not given any game time calls his coach a c**t! I bet that's the first time in the history of sport that anything like that has happened

You a little bit slow on the uptake "ruben"? Did you see the elim final v Richmond? He was the difference.
This bloke was a regular before Malthouse arrived. He was easily in carlton's best 21 but has obviously had a personality clash with the coach (who matches Sheedy as the 2 biggest megalomaniacs the game has seen).
Carlton will continue to go nowhere with him as coach.

Wonder if Duigan requested a trade at the end of the year?

I'd have a bet with you squids on who will finish higher next season out of North/Carlton but we both know you will softcock out of it like previously.

For the record, I think malthouse is awesome. Hearing him talk to cornsey and rowey when he wasn't a coach was awesome.

I'm a Malthouse fan too. Knowing Duigs personally I can also say he's a ripper ladl.

My guess would be two people who are very strong in their philosophies which are probably very different as one is an old school type and the other a Gen Y.

As per Ruben's post, not the first time a player and coach haven't gotten along and won't be the last.
