I believe the AFL integrity officer is looking quite deeply into the whole Port development side setup and may not allow it.
Bit of a concern by the AFL that Port may try to "hide" talented kids in one of their academy sides until draft day.

It's not even possible to hide kids in other leagues these days

Not true. Guarantee I've attended more Port Adelaide games over the past 20 years and been more of a financial member than just about anyone on this forum.
