Well before the start of the game today but what a memory jogger it was having a real football crowd at an SANFL game like this today, my kids who were born in the late 90s didn't know the SANFL could get a crowd like this as they only remember the 00s and 10s.

What was the final crowd, was it the biggest crowd since 2000

There were 4 crowds around the 35k mark in the 00's

Yeah mate, biggest SANFL crowd since the Norwood v Port Grand Final in the 90s.
North v Norwood bettered North v Centrals by over 6000.

You can talk about the crowd all day, yes it was a good turn out but the spectacle was rubbish.
Two years running the runners up have kicked 3 and 4 goals.
Too much congestion on the field.

I really hope you're being sarcastic?!? There is no way a west supporter can have a go at a game for being boring!

Ben Warren.
If he dosen't get drafted is more than likely going to accept a coaching gig in a lesser league next season.

Obviously you weren't at the 2010 Grand Final, then?

I thought Centrals played Sturt in the 2009 Grand Final?
Are you thinking of 2011 when there was more than 11,000 less than yesterday?
Or last year when there was 7,000 less?

Congratulations Norwood best team all year.

Great to see Ben Warren have a beauty of a game although it still hurts to see him in the Norwood guernsey. :(

Great day yesterday, loved the legends motorcade, great theatre to have the Port vehicle follow Norwood. The big Norwood cheer squad were giving the old Norwood boys a standing ovation and then the Port boys followed with light hearted boos, credit to the Port guys for hamming it up and winding up the cheersquad. Very large ovation for Jumbo when he went by aswell.
Sad in a way to see AAMI disappear, absolute craphole when empty but days like yesterday really make you appreciate it. Was great getting there early and having a barbie and knocking back some frothies whilst having a kick on Max Basheer, going to lose all that going to AO which will be sad

My boys just didn't have enough fuel in the tank to take it out but gave it a crack for most of the game.
Well done Norwood, best team all year and best team today, well deserved.
Norwood supporters were great, North supporters were great and brought back memories of the true atmosphere Footy Park could have which I haven't seen there for at least 15 years. It really was a step back in time today with such an enthusiastic loud crowd, my son brought his Port Power best friend and he said he'd never heard or felt anything like today.
Congratulations Norwood, too good and well deserved!

Agree with all of what Wedgie said (even the Norwood stuff :( )

Yeah, you are right again   it was Sturt in 2009.

I was actually thinking of when more then 34,000 went to watch GF's recently (2008, 2009 & 2010) although I know they are a few years before the last GF at AAMI ;)

I know you must be "fishing" with some of the above comments. Anyway, the crowd was within a couple of thousand of cd v glenelg, cd v sturt (twice), and cd v Norwood. I would have thought the sanfl would be happy with that, given it was the last game. "True atmosphere", "only decent atmosphere/ crowd" I think you've got your hand on it.
Interesting to hear whicker on the radio saying how great it would be to have port and crows reserves playing before crows and power on Anzac Day at Adelaide oval, next year. Be funny if it was in lieu of a north, Norwood game.
