2013 Draft November 21

Postby nuggety goodness » Thu Oct 10, 2013 10:36 am

So i've been thinking about the draft and the order of picks for each club and how it's all going to play out...

Crows and Essendon have no 1st or 2nd round picks
Nth. Melbourne have commited their first round pick, at 8, to father son selection Luke McDonald
Bulldogs have offered Essendon pick 22 for Crameri
Comp picks for Hawks and Pies for Buddy and Daisy will fit in directly after their ordered picks or end of first round?
Do Carlton receive a compensation pick for Eddie going to the Crows?
GWS and Melbourne have both offered up picks 1 and 2 to lure any decent trades, will that happen?

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-10/draft-order

the order, currently, is this;

1 GWS
2 Melbourne
3 St. Kilda
4 W. Bulldogs
5 Gold Coast
6 West Coast
7 Brisbane
8 Nth. Melbourne (father son selection, Luke McDonald)
9 GWS
10 Collingwood
11 Richmond
12 Carlton
13 Port
14 Sydney
15 Geelong
16 Fremantle
17 St. Kilda (from Hawthorn with S. Savage, traded for B. McEvoy)
18 Gold Coast (compensation)
19 GWS
20 Melbourne
21 St. Kilda
22 W. Bulldogs
23 Gold Coast
24 West Coast
25 Brisbane
26 Nth. Melbourne
27 Collingwood
28 Carlton (from Richmond, traded for S. Hampson)
29 Carlton
30 Port
31 Sydney
32 Geelong
33 Fremantle
34 Hawthorn
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

Pick 2 for mine- 2 years at league level in the SANFL has him well placed to play regular AFL footy in 2014.

Yeah Phantom drafts have Aish at 3 and Sharenburg at 5

Wouldnt be adverse to him going to Brisbane- port will be a chance to pick him up by 2016 ;)

That's good in theory, but didn't make Toumpas any less of a spud this year

That is true- Melbourne's coaching panel couldn't have developed Gary Ablett's game- dead set disgrace.

With Roos at the helm and if some changes to their coaching panel are made, If Aish was to get drafted to the dees I dont think his development would be stifled like some of the demons recent picks..

Dumont will end up a better player than Aish and will be a steal at around pick 9-15

Rumours from a good source, Melbourne will take Aish with pick number 2 and hope Dumont last to there 2nd round pick. If Adelaide can land pick 2, Aish will be at the crows.

Adelaide have very little chance of getting pick 2 - they would need to trade Dangerfield, Walker, Sloane or Crouch..and thats very unlikely.

Crows are a very big chance of getting pick 2
Melbourne want ready made players. Need to improve next year rather than have another 4 years of being bottom 2

Melbourne have a 4 year deal for Bernie Vince and they also want Lyons. Package them up for pick 2

Melbourne would be Adelaide's version of Alan Bond if they accept that deal!!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

LOL!

I think Adelaide's focus will be on securing Polec more so than pick 2. Vince for a low 1st rounder / high 2nd rounder will see that deal almost done.

Surely there is no way Melbourne are THAT stupid (or any club for that matter) to give up #2 for an inconsistent footballer packaged with an unproven youngster.

In theory- could Lyons could be sent to Brisbane with the Vince Pick to secure Polec?
