2014 Fixture (released 31/10) - predictions/discussion..

Postby eaglehaslanded » Sun Oct 20, 2013 4:34 pm

With the AFL draw set to be released on Oct 31st I thought it was a good opportunity to discuss potential round 1 match ups. What we do know so far is that both Adelaide and Port Adelaide will play away as construction workers aren't scheduled to vacate Adelaide Oval until Mar 24th. GWS is likely to take on Sydney in what is becoming a regular clash and we should also expect that Richmond will take on Carlton.

What are your thoughts, post away...

What is left of Geelong will be trounced by a cock-a-hoop Hawthorn. Really looking forward to next season NOT.

GWS vs Sydney (Skoda Stadium)
Geelong vs Hawthorn (MCG) - If REB is right

Post away your thoughts on how the remainder of the round might work out...

I read somewhere that the first round is split in two and Richmond and Carlton won't be playing each other in the first game (normally easter Thursday).

I'll try and find the article.

As per my original post - both the Crows and Power will be scheduled away in round 1. Both teams will play home games at Adelaide Oval on the Anzac weekend.

Yep, not sure what eagle is on. They've been drawing good crowds to the G for quite a few years in a row now. No way will they send the Hawks to Cat Park.

Have corrected my post now to reflect the MCG as the venue.

You still hold the record for the biggest salary cap cheating in the AFL's history, does that count?

There's a loss for you. North will own Etihad next season.
