faulkner and cutting are only medium pacers really. think they might be a bit like copeland - good at shield level but would get exposed at top level

I'm surprised his name doesn't get thrown out there more often with stats like that.

Playing on Hobart all the time makes that look much better. Almost have to be averaging less than 20 there.

The big sheila, Shane Watson, hurt again and may not be fit for Brisbane.

Do they replace him with a batsman or an allrounder?

If he misses I wonder if Hughes will keep his spot (assuming bailey was coming in) or whether they go for Faulkner

Cripes someone hasn't been paying attention. When the ball is on this bloke's hips he has nowhere to go. That back foot is cemented in place so a middle to leg stump line on the short side is going restrict him severely through the leg side. He plays the short ball over middle in a manner very reminiscent of Michael Bevan. England would be overjoyed to see Hughes selected again on our bouncier pitches.

Never rated the bloke.

One of our many problems is that we do not have a genuine no.3 bat. Where is the no.3?

Hard to put a side together but ill give it a try. This is what Im expecting more than what I would like:

Rogers
Warner
Watson
Clarke
Bailey
Smith
Haddin
Siddle
Harris
Johnson
Lyon

When I was looking at a side I would like it did occur to me that I just couldnt pick a combo that would get the job done. Injuries to our young fast men is a problem.

Appears most are set on Harris, Sids & Johno for our pace attack. Big question is who is next in line if one of these break down? Starc, Bird, Cummins gone & Patto an outside chance to be back mid series.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Jordan silk scores another ton for tassie. If things don't go to plan in the upcoming series surely a young batsman in form will be given
A chance. 6 shield games for 3 hundreds is a pretty handy record at this stage of his career
