Surprised that Sturt's James Battersby wasn't picked up?

Surely will go in the Rookie Draft?

A bit disappointed more local players weren't picked up by the c&@$ and paps to play against their bendover clubs.

Hearing Luke buckby might be a surprise pick up in the next draft by the paps (was injured most of last year at centrals).

South's Darcy Hourigan another one overlooked, for the second year in a row...

Might be an outside chance for a Rookie spot, perhaps?

I sure wasn't. Thought he was never going to be drafted in the national draft and didn't although as mentioned previously might still be picked up in the preseason or rookie draft.

As much as I dislike Norwood, got to hand it to them having 21 players drafted since 2010 and still win the last two premierships

Too slow and too inconsistent, fades in and out of games. He's a bit overrated IMO, wasn't a big standout for Port this season.

What are you complaining about, your two clubs probably have two salary caps ;)

Wasnt surprised Reynolds missed out. Too slow, sluggish, not fit enough for a midfielder and not a great user of the ball. His testing results probably cost him a spot.

Battersby was a bit of a shock, but then again, maybe it shouldnt have been. His type of player - sub 180cm, not quick, bit vanilla, questions over his contested winning ability seem to be rated in the top 25 but miss out every year. Colquhoun, De Boer, Laird, Silverlock etc. No doubt at all that he'll get picked in the rookie draft and play plenty of AFL footy.

Yeah, there are similarities to Colquhoun not being picked up last year. Agree he will go in Pre-Season or Rookie draft...

Following on from that it would be interesting to see how many have played 100 AFL games.
My perception would be the Eagles would be well below average on their draftees turning into 100 gamers.

Leaving kids in the U18s to standout has its advantages in terms of getting players drafted but doesnt do much for their long term prospects

Maybe you should play more of them in your league side instead of continually poaching from other clubs then, no good hiding these gun kids in the u18's. Your league side looked like dads army several times this year

Thought his testing was ok, he was equal winner of the clean hands component and the combine.

He looks very laconic at times, but he has some real talent and i was very surprised he wasnt drafted. i have seen some of the rookies AFL clubs have selected and if he doesnt get taken then i will be amazed.

From a Port Adelaide perspective i was very happy to see Sean Lemmens get drafted. He is a terrific kid, has worked hard on his game, and left nothing to chance.
