Ashes 2nd Test Adelaide Discussion

Postby whufc » Thu Nov 28, 2013 10:04 am

One week away, can't wait!!!

Going to all 5 days including a Botham luncheon the day before.

Looking at the long term forecast it looks perfect, maybe a bit of rain on day 1 which might give some life to the pitch and then low 20 degrees for the rest.

Unchanged Aussie line up surely, though Rogers and Watson have to be close to getting the chop.

Watto made 170 odd 3 test innings ago. He is safe for a little longer I think.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Rogers safe for a bit too. No better options around for that opening slot right now IMHO.

If they are thinking a bit like Jimbo and are worried about the bowling Faulkner for Bailey might be the go. I'd stick with the same eleven though.

Agree Watto is safe for a bit but his not a number 3's asshole

Kills the side with how he gets bogged down and can't work a single, would hate to be batting at the other end with him

I reckon the selectors would probably be thinking about picking someone like Silk, but may wait until the series is already over - ie. select for a "dead" test.

Yeah keep the same 11 for me, it's taken us so long to win a match it would be silly to change a winning team and more importantly a winning culture. Although I think Boof knows this and won't change the team. Love his policy if they are fit they play no more of this rotation and resting crap!!!

You have to earn your Baggy Green getting a game cause someone else is having a rest is just nonsense!!!!!!

Last thing we need is guys looking over there shoulders thinking they will be dropped any minute, how well did that work during Micky Mouses reign?

I do agree that we need more from Watto though for a top order batter who has played almost 50 tests an average of mid thirties is not good enough!!!!!

Rogers will get this Test, but if he doesn't start making some runs he could very easily make way for Silk or North.

Travis head and Cameron White are both batting better than silk.
White is almost in career best form

give silk/head a few more years before they get picked. otherwise it will be another hughes situation all over again.

3 years time they will still be younger than anyone else in the current team.

i could see them bringing faulkner in for bailey just so that harris and siddle dont have to bowl 30 overs each

Bailey is the new golden boy of Australian cricket wouldnt surprise me if they stuck with him the whole series.

Nope, eastern stand is out of action until the footy season, but southern, western (obv) and the hill bring it up to 30 odd thousand for the test

North? Shit truck. Silk should replace Rogers, but not this season.
