Another ton to Warner, well done Davey!

Worst review ever by the Poms
Root bowling around the wicket, pitched outside leg, hit outside leg and was missing the stumps

Not sure what their suggestion is but I've felt for a few years now that the toss should be done away with. Let the away side simply pick whether they bat first or bowl first. Suddenly we'll find ourselves pitches that are a lot fairer over the course of the 5 days IMHO. I just don't feel comfortable with winning the toss leading to winning the match as often as it seems to.

its an interesting idea. there are too many matches where the toss does make too much of a difference. I dont think doing away with it entirely is a good thing, but you could have it so that there is a toss at the start of the series, and whoever wins that gets first choice in the 1st/3rd/5th tests, and the choice for the 2nd/4th tests rests with the other team. this would negate the toss as much as possible.

Im with Benny and Graham on this one

Agree , the toss is too much of an advantage
Playing gets down to skill, coin tosses are simply luck , and far to much advantage often enough

Alternating the toss winners , is a good option , may not work though
Curators in the Sub Continent would provide home team pitches

It would be much better , and entertaining if we had players throwing at stumps pre-game
The side that hits the stumps more often from a set amount of throws is the winner of the toss
At least that way there is an element of skill v luck

Also , to negate any advantage , should the elevens be named after the toss ?
Perhaps the team that loses the toss , should be able to change its line up at least to even it up

What a load. You have as much chance losing the toss as winning it. If you're good enough you'll win no matter what.

Regarding the toss. Adelaide was meant to be a flatter road than the Southern Expressway and Perth was meant to be a batters dream after day 1 according to all Media sources. Please, this mob are under attack more than any other touring side and suggestions of changing the rules doesn't hide the fact that they are getting hit left, right and centre no matter where they turn and they are piss weak for Test Cricketers. This is real test cricket. Welcome to the toughest tour on the the planet and it's about time we got some balls back.

If the English held their catches in Adelaide series could have been different for them can't blame the toss for that.

Also you have to wonder what their tactics are Warner comes out on day 3 and goes bang bang bang yet on day 2 when pitch had less cracks england batted so slow.

I've always believed the best way to win test matches in Australia is through aggressive and attacking cricket and this English team couldn't be more defensive!!!!!!!!

Traditionally the best days to bat in a test match are days 2 and 3 - they have had plenty of chances to bat on these days in their first digs - you can't blame the toss for being sh!t at batting.
