I have great respect for the forces but that doesn't mean we shouldn't question their actions.

Umm so the forces were told to do it or not by the chief or Morrison in other words , and we attack the forces for doing what they have been told to do . Is that what you mean ??

i would have thought jail time would be rare for low scale fraud, it wasnt that much money in the scale of this type of stuff.

would have been wholly suspended i reckon if he pleaded guilty, but because he tried to get out of it he deserves jail.

It's not actually the amount that I thought they'd slam him for.
It's how many times he did it and his continual denial.
One act of $25k probably wouldn't send him to jail (Have to be Jennifer Hawkins to cost $25k)

Libs only 33% too. Big swing against them both and towards the greens and PUP.

still 21% for a major party is not good.

Both were poor but 21% for the labor party is a worry in itself

the left vote has been more heavily split between labor and the greens for years now. doesnt really matter much, as long as green preferences flow to labor before liberal, which they usually do.

interesting article about the composition of the new senate, and especially the fact that labor+green+xenophon is likely to be able to block legistlation.

that, combined with a bloc of 4 votes from palmer, means that the liberals are going to have to change tack and will need to start negotiating instead of just rubbishing, which is a good thing.

really good article about the failings of labor in recent times, particularly with their failure to differentiate themselves on key issues, especially on those issues where left and right are usually ideologically separate, asylum seeker policy for one.
