The top three scoring teams of the preseason had a Barry Crocker in the opening round as FNQ Trotters, Zedforce and the Adelaide Crows all crashed to defeat to less fancied opposition. Almost top of the class is young DA HEAT who didn't do a single trade last weekend and promptly racked up 2301 to sink the Crows in a round one upset.

Duromine proved to be more than dependent in the opening round with the league's top score of 2345 and Bum Crack licked his opponent as the Tongue of Fury lashed the sox and got the four points. Daisy's Duds head the table after one week which is what they did last year before faltering towards the end. Meanwhile, those elephants were anything but wonderful as they looked every inch a Division V side.

Bum Crack's the 'Tongue of Fury' is the unlikely leader of Hogg Division IV after two rounds. The Fury haven't faced any top scoring opposition and despite being ranked only 8th in the league for scoring so far this season have managed to get the job done so far in the head to head matches. Brod's The Willies are looking good early after a strong showing and they remain unbeaten along with the Fury and the Hobbits and the suspiciously slim Duromine Dependent.

Last week the story was about how the top scoring teams all got done in the opening round but this week Adelaide Crows, FNQ Trotters and Zedforce all managed to record their opening win of the season. All three sides however, remain outside the top eight.

The Wigg Brothers topped the scoring this week with a solid 2250, much to the chagrin of Daisy who was afflicted by a Mummy's Curse (at least you didn't trade him in this week like yours truly brother!). The wonderelephants finally came to play but despite an improved effort, they are yet to record a victory for the season.

The hairy Hobbits, Willies and Duromine Dependent are the only unbeaten sides in Hogg Division IV after three rounds. Of these sides only the Dependents had a tough match as they eased by the inconsistent HEAT. The Willies and the Hobbits had fairly soft matches and they duly saluted to continue to head up the table. Of these three The Willies have been extremely impressive and rank as one of the big improvers in the Hogg this season. This is Brod's best season so far and he is looking at a possible promotion this year.

Teams below the Willies that will have a big say about that include the number one ranked team in the Hogg, the Adelaide Crows who have rebounded strongly after an opening round loss and ZedForce who have been a good scorer most weeks this season. Some teams such as Daisy's Duds and FNQ Trotters have lost their way a bit in recent weeks and it's a bit of a mystery as to why it took Scros Swimmers three weeks to break their duck.

thewonderelephants won their first match of the season also to rise to 16th on the ladder but remain in the relegation zone along with Nutkickers, Holland's Hero's and FoxInSox who will need to pull them up in order to avoid a wooden implement added to the kitchen drawer.

Despite being the number one ranked side in the entire Hogg, things aren't coming up Roses so far in Hogg Division IV for the Adelaide Crows. They suffered that cruelest of defeats in where a side scores the second highest score in the league but lost to the team that scored the highest. The Crows were beaten by the mighty ZedForce by 2258 to 2222. Dead stiff the Crows to lose a match with that score in a low scoring round.

At the end of the scale struggling FoxInSox and thewonderelephants squared off with the elephants taking the Tusks to the Foxes with a pure arse 1913 to 1906 victory. So elephants gets the win and the Crows don't even though the Crows scored over three hundred more points this week OUCH. This makes it two on the trot now for the wonder elephant but he'll need to lift his game in order to keep winning.

Daisy wasn't all that happy about not getting promoted but a look at the ladder will show you why he wasn't promoted. With just one win in the first four weeks you would have to wonder how well the Duds would be travelling in a Division III that is going great guns this season. The Duds have had some pretty tough opposition so far this season though and the Willies are certainly up and about in season 2014.

Nan wasn't very nice to her Grandson after the FNQ Trotters sunk DA HEAT who now drop to 15th after a brilliant round one win against the Crows. Leo is starting to really struggle now in this division. No such worries for unbeaten Hairy Hobbits who are still on top of the pile and Duromine Dependent who have grown in stature over the summer...must be the PEDS!

Meanwhile the Tongue of Fury was licked by Shane Crawford and Cracker looks the vulnerable top eight side in this league with the Trotters and the Crows circling. It's hard to see anyone other than the Foxes taking out the spoon, especially after losing to the elephants which is never a good look.

As a league Hogg Division IV is really generating some momentum with the premiership table starting to sort itself out a bit sooner than some of the others. Division IV has sides in career best form such as top of the ladder Duromine Dependent and The Willies who suffered their first loss of the season to the giantkillers, ZedForce. Newcomers ZedForce, Adelaide Crows and Wigg Brothers are also contributing strongly to the league and a weak Division V are pretty lucky that these sides went up to this division.

There are still plenty of contenders out of the eight at the moment. FNQ Trotters is hovering on the edge of the top eight but the Tongue of Fury pulled off a boilover to defeat the previously unbeaten hairy hobbits to stay in the top eight. Crawf's SuperSquad could be a weak link but they proved to be far too strong for Crack Foxes who got found out. DA HEAT racked up a second massive score for the year to knock off Scros Swimmers who are now 1-4 despite outscoring third ranked Hobbits by nearly 200 points since the premiership began.

Onegameatatimers crashed to a 177 point loss to the Trotters and Daisys Duds also slipped into the relegation zone after they were thumped by Duromine Dependent. However, both sides can be optimistic of avoiding the drop seeing as thewonderelephants won't win another game in current form as they got belted by Holland's Hero's. The Foxes had an improved showing but no win for them after the Wigg finished on top.

If you are wondering why ASADA haven't pulled their finger in relation to Essendon, it's because they are investigating a far bigger issue at the moment. Last year Duromine Dependent were an inconsistent unit but this season the team has grown into giants and are now taking all before them. All totally above board of course! The Depedents were most fortunate to get a percentage booster out of ZedForce during the bye week because Zed is a real force but they were blown away by the ladder leaders in an impressive performance.

Shane Crawford's side is another big improver. Last year Crawf missed the finals in Division V but they are riding high in Division IV this season looking pretty sharp with 5 wins and only the one loss. Brod's Willies are also hanging out with the big boys in this league after claiming a regulation win against the Nutkickers who obviously missed their target this week.

Daisy finally got a win on the board at the expense of the FNQ Trotters and this keeps the Dud's hopes of making the top eight alive and eases what were looming relegation worries. No one wants to go into Divvy V it's a real cripple fight. The Adelaide Crows finally made the top four and I reckon they will stay there as well as they have been one of the best scorers (but no longer the best) in the Hogg this season. The Tongue of Fury has looked to be the vulnerable team in the top eight but they keep on getting those much needed victories when required. hairy Hobbits is another side that could be vulnerable with teams like the Trotters, DA HEAT, Scros Swimmers and Daisy's Duds looming.

There is still a chance to flee the relegation zone for one of the bottom four as thewonderelephants are stinking up the joint. I'd say onegameatatimers would be my pick although Holland's Hero's have some claims.

Holland's Hero's have pulled off the upset of the season when they knocked off the high flying Adelaide Crows to haul the Hero's out of the relegation zone. The Adelaide Crows have once again regained the overall Hogg leadership but every time they do this they seem to drop a match in the Division IV competition.

ZedForce lost again to make it two bye week losses on the trot but Duromine remained dependable while FNQ Trotted into the top eight along with the youngster DA HEAT. ZedForce had to make way and the Tongue of Fury tasted defeat as well and they are on the outside looking in also. Lowly wonderelephants dropped into the relegation zone but were a bit unlucky losing to the highly rated Crawf by only twenty points.

While the bye period has been bad for Zed it has been great for Daisy who had a nervous weekend watching his Duds come from behind to steal the points from Scros Swimmers in an important victory. The Wigg Brothers haven't gotten much of a mention this season but they had a solid win against spoon favourite FoxInSox and they have marched to 5th on the ladder.

In other the other game the hobbits got back on the winners list at the expense of the Crack Foxes who are looking more 'Sox' like by the week.
