Crows 2014

Talk on the national game

In my opinion I believe he would be a better choice than Lyon as he finds the ball a bit and that left foot can be damaging
.

Agreed, Lyons isnt up to IMO. I cant think of why Sando played him over Crouch and Grigg last year. A year of development at AFL wasted.

Wont hurt teams if he is running around the 50% eft like he was this year.

Most inside mids have similar numbers, for obvious reasons. But yeah, we need to give him space

How long do crows fans think Thommo has left?

I think Thommo is slowing down a bit and may need to send less time in the middle.
I've been wondering how he would go at half-back or in a forward pocket.

I think he plays in the mids or not at all. Ive heard a few people say he is 'slowing down' yet his stats would say he is still winning his fair share of the footy.......

You could sam the same about Boyd. Both on ageing legs, but rack up the numbers because they are smart footballers and run angles well to get to packs.

His stats are quite good FS, but i think Thommo gets exposed on the defensive side. IIRC, Priddis played h2h on Thommo last year, and killed him on the rebound, as Thommo IMO, doesnt have a big enough tank to sustain 2 way footy for an entire game.

Yep your probably right there Valleys no arguement on the 2 way running. If we didnt turn the footy over so much as a side it probably wouldnt be so bad, but while we kick at 50% it will certainly help the mid puch FWD and expose that.

Sounds absurd to me but their recruiting of late has been a little odd... What did they pay for Chaplin?

I reckon we held on to Luke for too long and he probably lost confidence whilst not getting a game. Had some talent but was too slow on the quicker smaller fowards and not strong enough for the big power fowards

Yeah he just wasn't the right type of athlete for afl level. Will go back and dominate sanfl on the smaller tall forwards

whufc might be a little harsh with his comments, but really not that far off the mark.

Lyons is no world beater and lacks pace, something Adelaide admit they need.

Agree but you can't have 40 world beaters on your list.
