Clarke believes his own press about being a 'proactive' captain.

Agree

Strange pitch from the Saffies especially considering they need to win this

No they dont.
Their negative attitude all along was to get out of this one with a draw and try to win the last one and draw the series. Saffers always look to save a test before trying to win it

Run rate of 3.43 in this morning session, de Villiers and Duminy looking good. Our bowlers discipline is lacking this morning, struggling to find a good line and length.

Really? I don't think we are bowling that bad. This pitch is shithouse but will be interesting to see how we bat on it as we try to take the game on. Hopefully it doesn't cause us to force shots and get ourselves out....

Disciplined batting will be needed. We might be screwed.

Pitch must be a road judging by the way Spud Duminy is playing

When we bat, bat the rest of the test out. Make them field for 3 days and run their bowlers into the ground for producing such a dead pitch.

Are Australia taking the piss now? Are they already just playing out time? SA are well within their rights to prepare any type of pitch they see fit, but it isn't good for cricket.

Get 200 in front and hope Lyon, Clarke and Smith can bowl them out in 50 overs on day 5.
