Well there's the dumbest piece of cricket for the day. Rogers, who should be looking to face as much as possible, runs himself out looking to get OFF strike when SA are told they can't bowl the quicks.

Game over. Well deserved unfortunately. Still don't like the 1/2 hour rule, but you keep shooting yourself in the foot you can't expect the weather to do you any favours.

Mind boggling to think what would have happened if SA could catch.

When the pressure went on the umpires were a disgrace.
Harris should never have been given out and then we would have had a review left to use on Lyon
Lyon hit his, as well as probably going over the top.
Rogers, i think Dar was guessing when the bail came up. Doesnt the bail have to be completely out of both grooves?? Happy to be corrected on that one though, he was clearly out when the ball struck but took along time for bails to move

All this happened after the umpires took the extra half hour, almost as though the umpires had to finish the game tonight to justify their decision to play on

What a disgraceful performance to capitulate after the openers did the hard work. Middle order was nothing short of pathetic today

Wtf happened, Australia were cruising when I went to bed. Spit my cornflakes everywhere when I checked the score.

You can guarantee the next pitch will be a road, Saffies will take a drawn series as a win.

Horrible collapse after Warner and Rogers had such a good start. Steyn back to his best, well supported by his fellow bowlers. I'm still sticking with my prediction of a 1-1 drawn series.

This morning I heard Clarke say he hopes the selectors wont make drastic changes and that they have won 6 out of the last 7 Tests

Well, Pup, it's not that you lost this Test, it's how you lost it
What it does show is our batting is brittle
We relied on the bowlers in Australia and the batsman hung onto their coat tails
Everyone's a winner out in front

Warner is probably the only guy who can keep his head up after this Test

We should never have sacked him in England
A bloke going to the pub to look for a Root and ends up snotting a Pom - seems reasonable
Root probably put the hard word on him

gee bit harsh... we've lost one test... Not bad for a side who only 12 months or so ago were very average. We are playing the best side in the world, something like this was bound to happen...
i agree with Clarkey, no need for wholesale changes... it's only one loss

One bad game, but two dreadful innings by our batsmen. Watson is definitely a starter for the next game, does he replace Doolan or Marsh? Hughes very rarely goes two innings without a score (he's too good a player) is he a possibility to come in?. Full credit to Steyn, he's a bloody good quick. Our bowlers were average this game, but you would think they'd bounce back hard next time out. Anyone here dislike Philander? For some reason he gives me the sh1ts.

Yep. Best bowler in world cricket. Not much you can do when you are that sharp and aggressive, and get the ball to reverse like that.
Backed up well by Morkel and Philander.

Lucky they don't have a better then average spinner.

I'd swap Doolan or Marsh for Watson. Siddle (big fan but has lost a yard) for Pattinson.

The prob NOW with Watto and Patto is they might be underdone ?

For Australia to win they need another superhuman performance from Mitchell Johnson

No real need to comment on Marsh. He's shown that he is a spud for over a decade so why should his latest failure be of any surprise.
