Watson back at 3 Doolan goes for now,

One worrying sign with the bat was Lyon getting out twice in one test after not getting out in the previous six.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Third test changes
Hughes in for Doolan
Watson in for Marsh
Pattinson for Siddle or Harris
Harris looks tired
siddle just to see how pattinson stands up to SAFFAS batting
The Top order just hasnt cut in the first dig for most of the summer
Hughes at 3
clarke at 4
watson 5or6 or float between 4,5&6 depending on the situation.
now its time to persist with Hughes & pattinson for at least 5-6 tests.
If they fail no excuses

Pattinson takes two years to play 5-6 tests.

Very disappointing loss. Our team has improved under Lehmann no doubt but we still can't handle reverse swing as a batting or bowling unit and we can't play swing or on slow decks. Fast and Bouncy we are a good show with Mitch dominant but once they take the juice out of the deck our batting is exposed.

Watto for Marsh. Need that extra bowling option and someone who will make a few runs.

Say what you will about Watto's batting, we missed his bowling in this Test.

sure did.

just that ability to come on and bowl 4/5 overs and give the others a rest. otherwise those overs were basically the end of a lyon or siddle spell.

This was written before the second test. Absolutely perfect summary and is exactly my thoughts. Interesting how Marsh was dismissed both times too.

His second innings dismissal was a tad unlucky i thought....was it actually out. I only saw it real time...looked to be missing leg?
Happy to be corrected.
