45 at 7.5 in his last series is not a great way to finish a great career

Smith was unlucky
If he was captain the short leg would have been on the Deep Square leg rope

Very good career, his record speaks for itself. Would of been difficult to be thrust into the Captaincy at such a young age and still open the bat.
Was a shadow of his former self this series.
Still a arrogant knob though and its great that he never Captained his side to series victory at home against us and was a pity Mitch didnt send him off with a bruise or two

Where have all the tactical masterminds that were critical of Clarke and his deceleration gone. He almost always get thems spot on. But there is no way he would have a feel for match situation, pitch and understanding of the game as much as the quick to criticise analysts on SAFooty

Not too often that the Numbers 1 & 2 all time run scorers for a nation would retire within a couple of months

Kallis 13206

Forgive us for having an opinion and wanting to see an exciting test match. We are all experts after the event.
