North Melbourne footballer Majak Daw has been charged with three counts of rape relating to an alleged sexual assault in Altona North in 2007.
Victoria Police detectives filed a charges summons at court on Monday and Daw is expected to be served with a summons today.
It is believed the charges relate to allegations of penile, oral and digital rape.
Fairfax Media reported earlier this month that Daw had been arrested and interviewed in May over the offences allegedly committed in 2007.

Daw, 23, has reportedly denied the allegations.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed that detectives from the Sex Crimes Department had charged a 23-year-old man from Wyndham Vale with three counts of rape.
"The charges relate to an alleged historical assault in Altona North in 2007. As the matter is before the courts, Victoria Police will not be making any further comment," the spokeswoman said.
A filing hearing is scheduled for July 11.
Daw, the first Sudanese-born player to play AFL, joined the Kangaroos as a rookie in 2010, but has struggled to retain a regular spot in the team

Shouldn't this be supressed by the courts because he was a minor at the time of the alleged offense?

Hey kangas fans, all the talk is dustin fletcher, will he play on or not, but seriously, Boomer Harvey, about to sign a contract extension, if all goes well he'll play his 400th next year.
Is this the real chance to break tuck's record?

Boomer would be getting much more fanfare if Fletcher wasn't still around, a 36yo playing footy like he is is amazing. Some are talking All Australian this year!

Some facts about the Roos which tell a story -

Last 12 matches as underdogs 8 wins, 4 losses.
Last 12 matches as favourites 6 wins, 6 losses

People calling for Petrie to get weeks for eye gouging is really starting to tick me off. Watch this video and tell me he eye gouged.

If someone choked me out like that, I'd have to be removed from the field coz I'd be trying to cave the dogs face in the rest of the match.

Still will get 1 at least, Lake lost the plot & will go big time but Eye gouging or attemped eye gouging is also a low low act. Deserves at least 1 even though he didn't have many other choices.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Yeah, IF he eye gouged...which he didnt. His hand is closed. Have you ever been choked out? I think he did a good job of keeping his cool. No way he'll get anything.

Anything you do whilst being choked shouldn't count. No way should he go for attempting to get lake off his throat

I don't reckon the Petrie dish did anything. He was fairly passive as Lake was choking him. He tried to grab his face to force him off but it didn't look like an eye gouge to me, he took his hands away from the area pretty quickly I reckon. He was just trying to get him off...so I reckon Petrie should get off.

Lake is frustrated and finished and the majority of those calling for Petrie's head are Hawk supporters.

I wouldn't say it was an eye gouge as such, seems he was more pushing him in the face and his finger was just over his eye

In the video, that happens as his arms moving in towards Lakes collar. It brushes past his face.

If a Roos player did that to anyone else, I wouldn't be defending Lake like the spud Hawks supporters are.

"Petrie to get weeks for eye gouging" :P

Lake will get weeks. Be interested what triggered it off- you dont tend to choke someone for kicking a few goals on you...

And HH I reckon I'd be chasing the culprit all game whether I'd been choked or eye gouged. Both dog acts IMO.
