Back to Back, or a tumble without big bud?

I'd like to think we can remain one of the front runners this year, but I'd like to see the likes of Hallahan, Woodward etc get a few games under their belt. Be good to see all the blokes with knee injuries from last year get through unscathed too. Hoping Garlett can keep his head screwed on and show us what he can do.

Dayle Garlett has walked out on the Hawks and has returned to Perth. Serious waste of a talent

The kid has some real talent as evidenced by his excellant season in the WAFL last year, many so called experts labelled him as the best talent outside of the AFL system. Obviously with his past it was a big punt by the Hawks to draft him

A shame. Was always a punt by the club and obviously backfired. We'll never know how good he can be*

*Watch Freo or WCE grab him in 2 years

Reading through the articles, seems he was never going to make it as an AFL player, attitude and behaviour was never right!

This is why profession sports do such a thorough screening process these days.. seems Hawks thought perhaps they could change this one

The reason they are saying he left was because he couldn't handle the work load of being an AFL player. If he cant do it at one club then I doubt he'll be able to do it at another.

Josh Gibson has been sidelined for up to 10 weeks with a torn pectoral muscle.

That leaves you with virtually no key defenders apart from Schoenmakers and Cheney (wouldnt call him a KPD!)

Thoughts on swinging Roughead back, Hale permanently forward and bringing in Ceglar to share ruck duties?

No truer statement TDK- does their long term injuries to Gibson, Mitchell and to a lesser extent, Lake, jeopardise their top 4 hopes?

Yeah plenty of injuries, but an opportunity for a few younger blokes to show what they can do. I also expect Port to give the Hawks a touch up - finish within 5 goals & we've done well. Hopefully we get all these boys back in the back end of the season to make a decent defence of the title.

Go Hawks!

Be good if Kaiden Brand can get a game down back for the Hawks this week. Young Berri lad. Fingers crossed.

Hard to see anyone beating the Hawks at finals time assuming they have their best players back. Incredible depth
