SS SA v NSW 3-6 March

Postby Footy Smart » Thu Feb 27, 2014 10:40 am

Notice that Jake Lehmann and Andrew McDonald didnt bat in the futures game 2nd innings?

Call up for Jake on the back of his 92 in the 1st innings and 89 for ET?

Ferg and Trav could be under some pressure?

McDonald was always only going to play 2 days of the 2nd XI game as if he played all 4 meant 6 match days in a row after the weekend Sat/Sun round.

With Jake no idea, he did sit out the first 2 days of the match that Chris Rogers played and then replaced him in that line up.

Although Ferg did struggle in the last game, he is averaging 64 for the Season... Surely can't be dropped with that average?

My Cricket shows Jake Lehmann made 7 runs in the second innings.

Would be surprised if they made a change to the batting line up this late in season, think Head and Ferguson both deserve to play ahead of Lehmann.

What about Ronald? Gives us the option of a bat who can bowl overs

Ronald will probably break down, I would not take the risk!

Still, interesting call which way they will go!

Ferguson under pressure
That's not a serious statement is it
Ferg has scored a 110,80,45*, 21*, 70* from his last 7 shield innings

 got this game discussion happening.

Apols for the oversight yes Jake batted in the second dig (didnt have my specks on). FYI furg made under 10 in his last innings ;) The one thing chuck does want is blokes looking over their shoulders and McDonald in the side, if he is deemed fit he will play.....

Imagine if he'd been given the same opportunities.....,

Ferg got gifted a ODI chance and took it by the horns, but only one, unlike your golden boy

How's it going to work with these pink balls? Will they only use them for the last sesssion or use them all day?

Led to believe its all day, but I have heard conflicting reports when the fielding side is allowed a new ball. Thought I read 50 overs about a week ago yet in today's article said the normal 80 overs....

Hmm will be interesting and interesting to see how they hold up, in the T20's i've played involving the pink balls i've generally found they dont last as long before they fade and go soft

Agreed, they barely last a 20/20

They have trialled Dukes in a few futures games this year. Looking to keep Kookaburra honest as the standard of balls has reduced massively and price has gone UP  Not sure if Duke make a pink ball and the standard of it.
