Cost of living allowance has been done to death. Sydney is the most expensive place to live in Australia. Do some real research.

I think you should do some 'real research'

Plenty of people dancing on his grave, but there is only ever one way to measure the performance of an employee, and that's by how well they fulfilled the parameters set out by the employers. By those measurements he did an incredible job.

Gee how amazing and forward thinking would it have been for Adelaide if for the same price as Adelaide oval, we improved Footy Park and put in a light rail/rail line to West Lakes a la modern sports precincts all over the world?

The best ones are located in or close to the cbd. Footy Park was a shit hole. Adelaide oval was "pretty" but a terrible place to watch sport, especially cricket.

Matter of opinion, best place to watch cricket IMO. Could watch behind the arm in the Old Bradman Stand, lounge out and relax on the Hills or enjoy the amenities of the members stand. As I said, was the best place to watch cricket, not now.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Anyway. Demetriou has done way more good than bad. It's funny the things he is being criticised for are the result of wrongdoings of others.

I know some think he is responsible for the SANFL and wafl direction, but I have only heard him say changes are up too the relevant leagues and have nothing to do with the afl.

herp derp so did the figures I used.

Anyway, the Swans players do not need to live on Bondi Beach or Sydney Harbour.

Which is mostly correct, as all leagues have to accept responsibility for their own backyard, buck stops and all that.

But naturally what happens at the top will filter down and have an effect on supporting/lower leagues. The SANFL several times found themselves with a gun to their head given the promises and threats related to funding from the AFL, which sits at an amazing disparity with other states, regions and area's of development. Reduction in transfer $$ income etc. So Vlad has had an involvement, whether he cares to admit it or not. But at the ed of the day his primary/only concern had to be for the body which he was employed to oversee.

I not a fan of the bloke and I think he's botched a few things toward the end of his tenure, but I agree with GrahamL - From the Charter given to him from his employers I would suggest he has been an outstanding success.

So the Swans players get to earn more so they can afford to buy expensive houses in an expensive city, when they sell these expensive houses for more than their opposition players can get for their poorer housing, do they have to give 10% of the sale value back to the AFL?
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....
