Of course he was going to, how else do you defend having 2 KPP in your forward half earning $1m+?

Ireland also stated that without COLA they could fit in Lance and Tippett into the salary cap...

I found his comments regarding Carlton quite amusing.

True, but Carlton cheated and got caught and they've been shit ever since so nobody cares.

Sydney get an advantage over the rest of the competition and they're top of the pops with the two biggest key forwards moving their in the last two years. So everybody does care.

Of course Ireland is going to say that, surely you can see that all of that is clearly political speak?

it does seem a little incongruous that it is all well and and good that we give sydney (and GWS) the COLA as long as they dont get too good. kinda makes a mockery of both the COLA and the response of the other clubs.

if they were bottom, even with Buddy and Tippett, nobody would be caring.

The thing that needs to happen is they just change the COLA so it is a 10% bonus on everyones contract, rather than a 10% addition to the salary cap. That way the extra money is being spent as intended, rather than just allowing them an extra million to go get a gun player.

Apparently it does, he made comment that everyone's contract shows the extra % for COLA on a separate line. This wouldn't be hard to manipulate though would it now.

And he should have been sacked, problem is though you have the AFL on your side with this one, helping you, but if your comfortable.

Adelaide is a backwater, no one wants to come here, we should have additional cap to be able to lure quality players

if we win flags i'm very comfortable...

Going on COLA, Adelaide players should get less cause it's cheaper to live here

How many times does it need to be said. COLA is the excuse for the money so they can take on Rugby League. The $wans will win the flag this year and maybe get one more...but that's it for the Franchaise. Enjoy it while you can Swannies. For the rest of us, we have to suck it up until Gold Cost come along with more AFL subsidised premierships.
