Just clicked over to 53,000 members during the week and Heath Hocking became the first suspended player to re-sign with the club which hopefully is a sign of things to come. Probably the best news was that we have just signed the biggest clothing deal in Australian sports with ISC becoming our new clothing supplier. $1m per year for 7 years which nearly doubled our existing contract with Adidas

Hocking just happy to sign anywhere, no one else would want him, not sure why Essendon do?

Had 4 other clubs interested in him, no world beater but plays a role and does a fair bit of grunt work in the middle. I think by re-signing him the club is hoping that it will entice others to aswell.
Hocking is very close to Hooker and Hurley

Alphabetically or is there a friendship Hille style there?

He is ordinary and i simply dont believe you that 4 other clubs were interested.
I think you hit the nail on the head with enticing others to sign, could be the only possible explanation.

Just good mates with the others.
Definately agree he is no star and probably wouldn't get a game in a good side but for us he does a lot of the inside clearance work and is a pretty good lock down player.
Was a couple of Melbourne clubs interested in him aswell as GWS and Brisbane

Well done bombers. I abhor the club for the crap they've put the players through, but admire the spirit of the supporters.

Darcy Parish this weeks Rising Star nomination.
Has had a cracking start to his career.
So much for the weakest draft ever crap the experts sprouted, there are some deadset jets amongst this group that will be entertain the comp for many years.

Daniher 15 marks (7 contested) , 21 possesions. Has to be in contention for the big votes despite his eratic kicking.

One of the bookmakers has him $15 to get most votes for Essendon. Very tempting seeing as 4 or 5 votes might win it this year for them.

He is a standout player 'on his day' and only needs to get votes in a couple of games to win this bet.

Good players have proven they can get votes in crap sides.
Zaharakis would have votes from the first 2 games and my money would be on him

Zaharakis is $2. no thanks.

You really think he would have got votes in Rd 1 ? 10 goal loss.

Umpires have often shown that a size of a win doesn't affect voting. Zaka was clearly in the top 3 players on the ground that day and I'd be very surprised if he didn't poll atleast 1 vote.
He is $2 for a reason, he is our best midfielder and it's a midfielders medal.

It was after pick 30 that it was supposed to tail away, not the top end talent.

Though marcus adams is proving that you can still find some good picks down the order

Very even top 30 last year

You've got a steal with Mason Redmon at about 30. Needs to develop physically but the kid just loves to compete and has his feet firmly on the ground. Plays like Goddard

When he plays you gonna like him.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Word out of Melbourne is that James Hird is no longer living in the family home. Allegedly on his "study trip" to France last year, he's met up with a female in her early twenties and she is now pregnant.
