I actually feel a tad sorry and embarassed for him - he struggles to get a kick and when he does it looks like he has never handle a football before in his life. How this bloke is a professional AFL player is beyond me.

Now I've had enough of Butcher as well but the worst player ever tag has to go to Cam Hitchcock I'd take Butcher everyday day of the week over the lesbian looking Hitchcock

Stupid comment Scoob. He was labelled "the futcha" because he has genuine talent and is currently low on confidence. Any bloke who has kicked 6 goals in an AFL game could hardly be the "worst u have seen". His set shot kicking is deplorable ATM but given some game time and confidence he might still play a valuable role. He is young and at his best can clunk big marks. At times he can be cringeworthy but he is far from the worst. I would like to see him further up the ground as opposed to from the goal square.

Doesn't matter where you play, the ball has to be kicked at some stage. Has more chance of kicking a goal from 10m than kicking a bullet pass to Schulz on the lead.

He can take a mark though, and a good competitor. He reminds me of Ian Perrie actually.

And a great kick for goal at training just needs to get his head right and do it in games

Pity the goals he kicks at training don't count. A player shouldn't need confidence to kick the ball straight, he is a professional... If I rolled up and did my job like he did last night I would get the sack.

I would take Ian Perrie any day of the week.

A perfect example of the word great being overuse.

Nathan buckley was a great kick. John Butcher can hit a target every now and then, as long as he is on the run and that the target isn't between 2 big sticks.

I dare say you can't be a great kick when you drop the ball and hope for the best.

i saw my 19 month old daughter trying to kick the footy the other day (a small soft footy). hilarious, but the smart little cookie worked out she would lose balance trying to kick like the way we showed her... Anyways she would hold onto the wall with one hand and with the other hand try and put the ball on her foot to kick. Unsuccessful yes on her first few attempts, but i liked her thought process on how she would find the easiest way to do it. She laughed and kept trying to get better, she had a great time... And she didn't fail all together because she got on to a couple which at that point would turn to me with a massive smile...

Giving you that boring story, when she stopped doing it the first thing i thought was SHE KICKS A FOOTY BETTER THEN BUTHCER!!!

The most important skill in football and he is at a level par with a Div 5 or 6 player. Again I simply can't see how he can be a proffessional player.

Its like a pilot who can't really land the plane but he tries really hard.

Being a Division 5 footballer, who is in the bottom 10% of kicking efficiency in my team, I still take offense to that statement.

He's got no excuses either. Aaron Young was deplorable by foot 2 years ago and now is one of the better users of the ball. He just can't get it enough, although I do believe he is being groomed ( along with Andrew Moore ) for Cassisi/Cornes type run with roles.
