Licenses sold- anchors away.

by sjt » Thu Mar 27, 2014 8:32 pm

Finally the SANFL have sold the afl licenses. The success of Port and the crows is now largely the concern of the AFL. As many posters had thought and mentioned, why don't the sanfl sell the licenses, lease footy park at the moment to the crows, receive the monies from the SMA and make money from the sanfl owned West Lakes land.
The reserves were never needed.

Charge the Cows rent to use AAMI now, half a mill a year to train there sounds fair.

So you are happy with a tennant free loading?
Fact is that all that land is SANFL owned, the Cows are no longer owned by the SANFL so surely must become paying tennants

Surely the crows would have some clause of not paying rent since they paid for the facility.

So your saying the Crows paid for the facility yet weren't formed until 1990 some 17 years after the facility was opened.

They do pay rent, on commercial terms, for the land their facility is on.

The issue is why were they sold ? Who pushed this and why did the SANFL not hold firm and demand a lot more.

Great for SANFL as we now don't have to bail out Port and can beat the sh1t out of them as we have no vested interest like before. :D

The Power and Crows have kept the SANFL competition afloat and will continue to do so even with the licenses sold back to the clubs- The SANFL will leech money from the AFL clubs under the AO stadium deal same as they did at AAMI.

not much changes for the SANFL under the new arrangement

I bought a rental property and didn't expect anything in return because I didn't want to be a leach.

when someone owns a business they like to get a return crows were able to provide the sanfl money to help with keeping the sanfl alive. Port were not so finacial so couldnt yet did get financial help when it needed it. so please do not bite the hand that helped you set up what should be no excuse for failing. if you cant make it work now you will need to fix it yourself
the sanfl were your parents that guided you &supported you. You have left home now so good luck.

Fantastic news about time Crows and Power Faaarkkkk O## now lets pi## off their AFL sides who are still loitering in the SANFL.

Good move Power should and if you go belly up in the future you can now get help from the AFL'S bottomless money pit instead of sponging off the SANFL.
SANFL 2000 - 2011 Central District 12 consecutive Grand Final appearances and 9 Premierships.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFF.

Hit em hard let them get up and hit em again.
