After casting an eye at the crowd yesterday, I'm starting to think that the majority of Crows supporters attending the SANFL side's games will generally be those who formerly supported the home team, but now follow the Crows. I guess they would see it as a chance to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Would explain the lack of noise when they score as they surely would feel either guilty/embarrassed that they are barracking against the team they potentially abandoned.

LOL, that seems to imply that no-one would have attended these games and ALL the attendance is due to the Crows.

Anecdotal evidence on this site suggests only a few hundred Crows supporters are turning up to games, so the 'positive' impact of the Crows on attendances is marginal at best.

Certainly not implying that at all. Yesterday was 95% Dogs fans- but a few wore both colours and that's who I refer to.

Atmosphere was poor once the Crows started to dominate. My point is that I think very few Crows supporters that don't have an allegiance with the home club as well, are interested in going to see their Reserves side.

Without trying to defend the Crows here (see my signature) didn't Rucci just do an article on how that 4,000 figure was all a myth and the Crows actually said their games would average 3,000+ total?

The Advertiser has gained a copy of the Crows’ submission made to the SANFL club presidents and chief executive officers last year and there is no 4000 figure in the presentation made in July.

Rather, it suggests 3000 is the realistic crowd for SANFL games featuring the Crows.

The paper reads: “Attendances are difficult to predict. However, if our season ticketholders (24,000) had access to the (SANFL) games, we believe that at least one in 20 would attend our games.

“Based on this realistically we believe that crowds at these games would average 3000 which is similar to current SANFL crowd averages.”

The Crows also made financial predictions for these games for the SANFL clubs.

Adelaide plays every SANFL game - except the home SANFL derby against the Port Adelaide Magpies - at the home ground of its rivals which keep the return in the car parks, the canteens and the bars.

Adelaide argued every fan equates to $7 in the cash register.

“Any financial predictions,” the Crows submission says, “will be based on crowds of 2000 to maintain a conservative approach.”

With an average crowd of 3765 so far, the Crows will argue they have added $52,710 into the coffers at Prospect and Unley.

That is probably another figure that will create an argument ...

It looks like the submission varies significantly from what was spruiked in public. The way the article is written it almost infers $52,710 has been "added" to the coffers at both prospect and unley. Rather Michelangelo has multiplied the average crowd figure at each game by $7 then multiplied by 2. I'm sure not even the crows would claim the total crowd attending are all crows supporters.
P.s the car park at centrals is free, how much does that reduce the guesstimate by.

Hasn't every side had semi professionals in there team since the crows came into the afl??? So it's an issue now... Didn't seem to bother anyone when these semi professionals were available for finals for the team you supported...

Umm, no it's only a problem when there's a team of full time professionals playing a team of semi professionals. Sorry, thought it was pretty obvious.

I know this probably doesn`t count, but the only one I could come up with is the International games between Ireland and Australia ( GAELIC FOOTBALL)

Come off it, they had about four top ups. If you want to be pedantic, the whole team aren't full team professionals, just about 17 of them.
