Angus Brogemann - jnrs at the eagles been playing country footy
Danny Butcher - power last year
Sam Gordon - Hampden football league
Ben Haren - Port jnr Syndney swans
Zac Hawkins - Port jnr
Jake Johansen - Port Jnr
Nathen Krakouer - Hasn't played AFL since 2011 WA Ammo's last 2 years
Aseri Raikiwasa - Port Jnr
Ban Sawford - Port Jnr
Louis Sharrad - Port Jnr
Henry Slattery - Leadership player
Steven Summerton - Port Jnr
Matt Venter - No senior footy 24 years old
Robbie Young - Port Jnr

You can't complain about about Port's jnr's. We still have a academy team in the reserves and our development programs across the state. Slattery is our leadership player. The only one you can complain about is Danny Butcher. The other's haven't played league footy within 18 months. So I don't know what the SANFL or the clubs could actually change.

Option 1:
They can say no top up players who have played at any state league level and that includes Port juniors such as Summerton, Raikawasa etc.
Option 2:
Limit age of top up players to under 21 only
Option 3:
Similar to the old VFL model they can limit the ammount of AFL listed players that can play each week, the VFL limit was 12

Reserves ain't going no were. We have lost our zones and jar's, but it has also given us the opportunity to create our development program across all of SA. Meaning we can get kids in any zone into our development program. Which the SANFL or SANFL clubs can never take away from us. Kids that grow up barracking for Port Adelaide are going to want to play for Port Adelaide. It would of been smart for the SANFL to let us keep our zones and Jnr's, which would of meant our recruiting zone would of been smaller.

No chance whatsoever of the goal posts being moved midway through the season. For now we are stuck with the deal that has been done. Confident that the top up situation will be reviewed at the end of the year if need be, though having said that, unlike some on here, I am yet to be convinced that there's any certainty as to how this season will play out.

I am a supporter of Adelaide and Port Adelaide's entry in to the SANFL. I am also realistic enough to have expected that the rules surrounding this may need to be tweeked as we go. I don't want to see dominance nor do I want to see them get belted every week. As much as some on here would like to see the teams gone, I seriously do not see that happening.

Impossible, we dont have the salary cap room to attract better players and all the decent young talent we produce gets drafted to the AFL. Im a realist and we are a second tier comp and dont have the money.
Im telling you that clubs are restless and there WILL be changes at seasons end.
The clubs hold the bargaining power this time so Port will have to agree to some changes or they will be out

You sure they aren't going anywhere, wasn't there talk that they wouldn't be in our league next year but might be playing in the saafl. You don't really have much of a bargaining chip really,

I'd go a combination of Option 1 and 2. Look at getting extra funding from the afl reserves to increase our salary cap too.

I'm pretty sure the other SANFL clubs would be getting more money now from Port and Crows than the old format, why else would they vote it in ?

I think we get $50k from the crows, not sure about the power but this is why i said extra, extra on what we get this year, that part probably wont happen though, the other stuff is a must.

Is there any port people on here that can look at this objectively? Surely having 18 or so guys to pick from an afl list is a good enough advantage in itself? You don't need to have the other top up players being high quality SANFL players. If you take away those guys you have you're still in the top 3 imho.

We gave up our club distribution which is 400k. Plus the only members that get into away games free is the ones that have a full membership.

Each SANFL club gets $100K from the AFL clubs each year ... $50K each from the Crows and Port.

So you're both correct.

So they're paying a distribution that they should have being paying anyway and get to exploit the sanfl for free.
