A dog act in 2014, would've been a dog act back in 82 or 92 or whatever era.
Slattery was smirking away after the incident, i trust that smirk has been wiped from his face now.
If your going to pot someone at least do it where they can see you coming Henry, that would've been a tad braver at least!

Agree, if Groke got 7 games then this should be about the same.

Simply, no. Grocke deserved far more.

Slattery also suffered concussion suggesting it was a head clash, not elbow and head.

Was slightly more chance that the ball was still in play in the area for Slattery rather than Grocke. Maybe if the Sturt guy had hung on to the ball and tried to turn and run with it then a big tackle might have been on offer. Players charging in from that far away though are well aware that the ball could be gone by the time they get there and they need a plan B. If their plan B is bump an opponent in the head without trying to pull up, then they deserve something in the 6-8 week range.

SANFL got some bad press over the Grocke incident and we don't need these type actions characterizing our competition. Thee are too many positive aspects that get overshadowed when that happens.

It'd be interesting to see how dangerous the two 'front-on contact' offences are, when Crouch's hit is only worth one game.

Flynn got an exceptional deal with 2 games for his. No surprise that PAFC tweeted 'we've taken it' 7 hours ago, when the deadline is actually 9am Tuesday. Got in before the incident review panel changed its mind!

What was the result on the Slattery report a few weeks ago (mentioned above)? The discussion stops prior to the outcome and the SANFL reports page seems terribly out of date.

Bit of a grey area for the SANFL with their rules, is a players record .. Flynn doesn't have a "Good Record" for playing his 5 prior games without offence, he just doesn't have a "Bad record".

For players falling into the latter category, is there a timeframe by which their slate gets wiped clean?

Flynn actually got 5 weeks (over 500 points) but then with the clean record and early guilty plea, it was reduced to a 2 week ban...

A Clean record shouldnt be a factor when you've only played a handful of games. Far too generous discount.
