The Mountain doesn't squeeze his head like a plum, he just crunches his head again with his fist. Oberyn doesn't scream in the book. And Tyrion power chucks his breakfast up.

Also, the beetle speech never happened.

Plus Lady Arryn, didn't "commit suicide" in the books, they blamed it on a musician that was there and said he threw her out the Moon Door...

The Hound and Arya never made it to the Eirie (can't bloody spell it) and Sansa didn't admit to who she was either...

Quite different in some respects, not so much in others

Thus meaning in the books, that Sansa's true identity is still a secret, so it was quite a monumental change.

As an aside, when I dropped eldest JK top school this morning I saw a dad that looked the spitting image of Roose Bolton .. My first inclination was to hurl vitriol, but then I had to look around for any Walder Frey lookalikes.
