Watched it on the tube, South look really good, well balanced and extremely well coached, their structures were amazing, always had someone on the defensive side of the stoppage which they used constantly and always put the ball to their team mates advantage when kicking/handballing.

Glenelg tried hard and effort was there but outclassed.

Crowd was well down on last year.

How the **** was spud McNeil on an afl list. 5 possessions today, wouldn't average much more than 10. Has no weapon for a midfielder. We don't have any decent midfielders to come back either. Ty Allen is passed it, he was lucky to get 6 touches a game last year.

My first look at South this season, albeit on TV. Relieved to get the win, especially given we were an unprecedented $1.13 fav with the bookies. Pleasing to run the game out so well after only having 19 men for most of the day.

Huge game from Brooksby. 39 hit outs, 26 touches, 9 marks, 12 clearances. Liked the games of Thewlis, Cross, Eddy (wow, what a change from last season) and Murphy. Veide completely shut out Lonergan. The recruits all contributed without starring. Skills and structure have noticeably improved on last year.

Crowd about 600 down on last year I think. The earlier timeslot probably didn't help (prevented me from going due to family lunch), as well as the live TV coverage.

Umpires extremely whistle happy today. Geez there were some soft ones paid, especially some of the high tackles and 'in the backs'.

Bays had a dip but are lacking some class. Alleway still a bloke you love to hate.

Centrals away next week. No better opportunity to break various embarrassing hoodoos.

Holidaying interstate so a rare missed game.

Recorded the game so will have to wait until I'm back to pass comment.

Even without seeing the action, South have obviously improved out of sight.

Sigh, long road back for the Bays.

There was a decent punch to the ribs in the last quarter.

Sure was. I'm thinking at least a game.

Haven't seen the TV yet, but I don't think any reports yet. If the TV got them, Crabb, Lonergan and McGinty all get games.

Had to admire Keegan Brooksby for not responding (twice). That is the discipline that we need.

Great to get another win yesterday against the bays. Game was pretty tight for 3 quarters until the Panthers pulled away in the last.

Eddy, Cross and Brooksby all played ripping games for the Panthers.
Hope Redigolo is okay very important player and Thewlis leadership this season has skyrocked.

Loved the little fights in the last quarter that sort of passion has been missing from the Panthers for as long as I can remember all the boys are def playing for each other.

Loudest I have heard South supporters for some time and even saw some faces I havent seen for a while which is great to see people getting around the club.

When the boys were walking off the cheers for them at the cage and especially Gotchy the coach was unreal and to see the supporters who have really copped some bad results so happy and some of the senior boys smiling also u can tell something is different at Panther Land.

GO U PANTHERS!!!!!

McGinty may have gone in the book during the 3rd quarter but was hard to tell from distance plus was more focussed in South going forward to kick a goal.

What Crabb did was pretty stupid. Don't think any of the umps picked it up but if the cameras caught it he should get a game

When the camera showed the ground level shot of Crabby giving the little kidney jab, umpre Corey Bowen was in the background of the shot. He did see the punch because you saw him go to put the whistle up to his mouth but then pull it away.

Reasonable crowd I thought. I reckon about 4500 for last years game so not that much different. Glenelg fans probably fading fast due to their poor start too.
South looked good and I am not surprised of their improvement and Glenelg look to be in for anothher long season.

Firstly, great having SA footy on tv on good friday!

I thought we battled pretty well and had some great passages of play, but south were too good around the stoppages. Having a 19 yr old lead ruckman hurts us. Being 0-3 sucks but i'm reserving my judgement for a few more weeks yet.

Loved Gregsons game, and i reckon south have a bewdy in Eddy.

Enjoyed the chat you had with Brad Gotch on rph yesterday Big Phil.

I thought his comment re: outside and inside players was spot on. Under Fuller we were generally very good around the ball with Brooksby, Liddle, Cross etc, however lacked outside runners with penetration in their legs. Were regularly exposed on the expanses of Noarlunga in this area. The likes of Macleod, Dale, Gulden, Rankine etc seem to fill the void of what we lacked. These runners will be crucial at Elizabeth next week.
