With South now performing exceptionally well id imagine scouts would be starting to take notice, would any of Eddy, Cross, Liddle etc be a draft chance? Would be great to see other clubs get raped by the AFL, hopefully they will leave us alone for a few years lol

Yay, would be great not to lose a quarter of our side to the AFL each year

Dont think Port has won at the Parade in 5 or 6 years
I mean amongst current teams.

Unlikely. Cross and Liddle wouldn't. Would need to see more of Eddy, but he seems a bit small to play key position in the AFL. His marking is excellent, but not sure what he has outside that he can offer week in week out.

Brooksby is also probably too small to be a ruckman in the AFL as well. Think he is the shortest lead ruck in the SANFL????

Gulden maybe? Swans were keen for him to stay in NSW with them with the view to draft????

Reckon South have got the right combination with their recruiting good players at State League level but not quite good enough for the next level up.

Well played south. Gotch is a very good coach and Eddy is a gun.

Centrals have IMPLODED over the last two seasons.

Boyd Osullivan Hayes Hardy and Obst would be handy right about now.

Well done Panfers ya finally have broken the Ponderosa hoodoo good job.

From my perspective before the game i thought the Dogs were a chance of winning due to injured players that were out for South.

Dogs got smashed in the rucks Brooksby very good Mabon got outbodied however did get some hitouts towards the end this young boy has the height but needs to bulk up and needs many more games under his belt.

Eddy with 6 goals great effort good hand and accurate a gun however i think if we had Collier on him could of possibly been a different result.

Dogs lost it due to poor skills and decision making.

For me one glaring example was in the last quarter young Gilbee about 45 metres out from the northern goal could of run a bit further and should of had a shot as he had an unattended open goal mouth however decides to do the team thing and passes off to a one on one contest dogs lose the ball Panfers get it down to the other end result a two goal turnaround for me a critical point in the game.

After the final siren the men in white received a warm send off by some of dogs crowd who were not happy with with their effort in the last quarter seems they put their whistles away to let the game flow.

Any neutrals who watched the game on television what are your thoughts re the umpiring.

Once again great job Go Panthers !!!!

Fluffbag i like the notion of a Doggy rent a crowd if you make the Grand Final against the AFL interlopers but in my heart at this stage i can not see myself going to watch a AFL side.
SANFL 2000 - 2011 Central District 12 consecutive Grand Final appearances and 9 Premierships.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFF.

Hit em hard let them get up and hit em again.

Agree with much of the above. At a guess I'd imagine we would have had about two players from our top ten b&f last year, playing yesterday.

They let a lot go. Don't think it favoured either team though.

Great contest on Saturday.
I seriously thought we were gone in the 2nd quarter but to come back like that from 4 to 5 goals down is very impressive and just shows how this South side has changed (the South of old is gone!) The players kept on staying to the structures Brad Gotch has implemented.
Gulden, Eddy, Liddle, Rankine, Dale, Brooksby best for me. Thought Rankine held Habel well when put on him.
I thought Centrals really came out and put the pressure back on South. Their tackling for most part of the game was excellent. Habel was very dangerous up forward,
Interesting to hear Nick Murphy interviewed at 3/4 time saying he thought "fitness"will help South get over the line. I thought that was the key factor in the last 1/4 ....South outran Centrals and used the open space very well.
4 wins 0 loses.....sort of feels very surreal for me. Can not remember the last time I have seen such a great start to the year.

The supporters are coming out and the bandwagon is well and truly rolling ....ALL ABOARD !!!

Now time to win against the Eagles and stick it right up money bags Ainger and Wundke,

Bring it on!!!! ;) #therearenolimits
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Weird thought a mainly for Dogs fans who see us more often.

I seem to have a thought that we really struggle to stop momentum.

We are fine changing momentum after a quarter time break like the second quarters against Norwood and South

But what I mean is during a quarter once a team gets on a roll we have no plan b until the siren goes.

It's something I don't think Lairdy has improved in the last few years.

-are we to slow to recognise the momentum of the opposition
-do we not change our tactics to suit
-do we just not have the cattle to take the initive

????

No excuse Jim
Norwood has ONLY had about 21 players that have played AFL since 2010

I think Brett Eddy and Keegan Brooksby will be having their names jotted down in AFL scouts note books throughout the course of this season...

Many have acknowledged it's been a test for Laird over the last couple of years . He doesn't seem to fairing so well under the test ??

Some have questioned his coaching, but the playing stocks are not what they have been in previous seasons. Many Dogs fans starting to get really frustrated with some of the selections, or non-selections of certain players as well...
