I'm struggling to work out Sammy Jacobs. Is he overrated? Just seems to be off the boil too often.

v poor on the weekend, bu s'pose that makes him important (ie. if he plays well we win)

I see what you're trying to do here, but surely with Mcintosh fully fit and blicavs as back up simpson wouldn't matter too much. Taylor yes with lack of defenders to play on the real big boys, yes hawkins in a key post up forward. Surely selwood is #1, maybe in the top 3 in the comp at the moment?

Couldn't give a shit what they have to say.

Masten attacks, but does not defend. Gets burnt on rebound more then any of our midfielders.
Scooter gets plenty of it, has very little polish. Priddis probably more important
Cox important, Nic Nat wins you games within a quarter, 18 months ago.
Kennedy, basically been playing without him for the last 12 games. Darling has gone past him.

I'm not trying to do anything. With no Simpson McIntosh has to ruck all by himself, Blicavs isn't really up to it despite his best efforts. When Simpson plays McIntosh becomes a second ruck and fills in for the injured Vardy. When Simpson is out we don't have a second marking target in the forward line with Pods shown the door and Vardy with his ACL.

You've got to be kidding on all three surely. Conca and Grigg are B Grade on a good day and if it wasn't for the fend off Martin would have nothing. I reckon Pag got it right the first time.

Martin and Grigg average 22.9 disposals per game - 2nd most for Richmond
Conca averages 22.00 disposals per game and 7.1 tackles - the most for Richmond

Martin averages 15.7 kicks, 2nd most for Richmond and is 2nd in the goal kicking with 10 goals.
Grigg 12.9 kicks per game - 4th

All 3 also rank in the top 5 for average fantasy points for Richmond :D

if you are talking most important, i think you have to look at players that can single handedly win you a game. or lose you the game if they are well held.

grigg certainly doesnt fit into either of those categories. I think dusty does though

Most of that shit has nothing to do with how valuable a player is for a club. The only one of those three players they'd miss is Martin because of his goals. Is Grigg more valable than Rance because he can sheep dog 23 possies a game? I doubt it. Is Conca more valuable than Maric because he lays 7 tackles a game? Again I don't think so. And if Riewoldt isn't there I wouldn't back Martin to boot many goals.

So if we are talking top five then you are saying that those three are more valuable than Cotchin and Deledio, as the others are structure players. Hmmmmm.....

Dusty runs one way, he'll lose you as many games as he wins. The most important players for any club in my view are players that provide a solid structure for your club....your main ruckman, forward, defender and your best couple of mids. Pag and I have a similar list for our respective clubs.

No way is Martin in the most five most important players at Richmond for me, not ahead of the 'structure' players or the main mids Lids and Cotch.

Martin is a better player than Rance, but not more important. Can Martin go back and stand the gorilla forwards? No. But they could bring in Jake King to come in and bag the odd goal in the forwardline and lose a lot less than when Rance is out. Gorilla defenders are a priceless commodity at Richmond and Rance is the best they have in this area.

I think it's no surpise that Richmond played a lot better on the weekend once Rance and Deledio were back in the side. Rance played a pretty good game I thought.

also amazed me that the crows didnt bring back rutten to stand on dawes. As much as i like how hartigan is developing, Dawes made him look second rate, and he wouldnt have done that to rutten.

so I think you have made some good points, I agree with you

They are the source of much amusement in the Boon household. Both I and Junior Boon look forward to watching what Richmond dish up to their supporters on a weekly basis.

So much hope, so little return....
