Good win. Crowd was like a morgue. Never heard a quieter crowd at any sporting event.

Maybe for some reason people weren't that excited about the match.

Love how it was promoted as a "Showdown" & that the "rivalry continues".
How can Port "have it both ways"? - This 'rivalry' against this opponent & the 'rivalry' against traditional rivals Norwood in the 1st week.
Are they the Magpies or the Power?

Obviously you've never been to a Crows home game.

From the tv it sounded like a pro Crows crowd, just my observation anyway. That might explain why it was pretty quiet, may have been different had the Crows hit the front!

For the second time this weekend, the Crows gave away a huge start. I thought they played some good Football in the second and third quarters to work their way back in to the game, but I always sensed that Port would regain control of the game. Port looking very strong of course, but far from unbeatable. Crows certainly not contenders, though I think their game against West at Richmond next week is a genuine 50-50.
No Surrender!

From the limited game time I saw yesterday it appears that once again the defensive structures of Port Adelaide made it difficult for the Adelaide side to score.

Krakouer looked silky around the back half while Summerton and Bruggerman again stood out. Mitch Harvey showing some real promise as a key forward while Tom Clurey and Tom Logan did pretty good work on defensive 50.

I can see what you were all complaining about with players getting gifted games at SANFL level. Lewis Johnston got a free game to his career tally yesterday and will get another one next week.....

Surely you're not surprised, the Clare derby before it was a immeasurably more meaningful contest.

To be fair Lewis Johnston was very good in a North Guernsey. Maybe he is struggling with the current set up.

One player you must be very happy with is Bruggerman. He has been a good pick up from outside the SANFL. Looks a giant of unit but suprisingly agile at feet level. Might not yet be a champion, but handy all the same.

Struggling might be an understatement.

Bruggemann is indeed quick with his hands for a big man, looks like he could have a career at SANFL level ahead of him and another pre-season will do him no harm.

A great day for Clare. Not as big a crowd as anticipated, though.

Whatever the result, the local clubs would've got a bit out of it.

Dogwatcher, I know the crows players wouldnt haven't been a top priority for you, but did you notice the games of Charlie Cameron and Ellis-Yolman?

Didn't watch the game. The only things I've heard about it are that Port won, Tex kicked four and, looking through this post, the crowd was smaller than it should be.

However, Ellis-Yolman really needs to make every post a winner, doesn't he? Surely he'll be off the list at the end of this year if something doesn't happen.

No worries, thats all ive heard as well haha Anyone else see the game?

I agree, Ellis-Yolman isnt as far developed as AFC would have liked. Him and Lyons should be our depth players, yet they still arent up to the level. They do rate him as a bit of a project player but the clock is ticking for sure.
