Umpires love affair with the Eagles continued. A good hard game destroyed by blatant cheating. Eagles are hard enough to beat without that crap

Could not beat the 24.
Blatant cheating umpires, and I don't like blaming umpires.
And next time the Hybrids recruit more supporters stay away from Bedford.

Obviously wasn't there but seemed to have bursts of quick scores with long periods of little or no score.

How did the match play out?

How did the match play out?

Yeah, Eagles jumped away early and it looked like it a mauling was on offer, Legs hit back hard and tied it up at 1/4 Time. 2nd quarter was a real arm wrestle with both sides only scoring a goal and Norwood leading by 1 point at the half. Norwood came out strong after the break and kicked 2.2 to lead by 14 points but later in the quarter wasted several chances and then the Eagles slammed on 5 goals on row with 3 of them in time on to take a 14 point lead to the last change. Again Norwood kicked the first two of the quarter and the Eagles replied with one. Norwood goaled again and then kicked a few points to get the margin to 1 point but the ball spent the majority of the last few minutes in their forward line

Felt like Norwood were a 2-3 goal better team for most of hte match.

They held our tall forwards well and the eagles were once again mauled in the ruck with Baulderstone close to BOG.

Can't really pick out anyone from the eagles who stood out. Maybe Von Bertouch was our best for his solid job on Newton despite the latter kicking a couple.

Look I wasn't there, but anytime you have more scoring shots surely you have to blame your own mob first and foremost. We got closer than I expected but still disappointing to lose from a winnable position

Not just more scoring shots. More kicks, handballs, marks, tackles, hitouts, clearances, and inside 50s. But not more goals. Ouch.

Yeah absolute ball of a time, what do you reckon? The only saving grace was the Eagles only having 10 fans there tonight so we didnt cop too much grief

Dont know how we started favourites.
Think most Norwood fans knew that this year would be a struggle. Cant keep losing half a side each year and keep expecting miracles. Approximately 30 players gone in the last few years and only 8 of last years Premiership side played last night. Think we are punching well above our weight this year considering. Think if any other side in the comp had lost that many players they would be sitting bottom

Maybe this thread should be renamed the Post Match Dummy Spit.

On behalf of the Eagles I apologise for not being an undisciplined team that gives away copious amounts of free kicks.

Still searching for that rule that says the free kick count must be even.

Five goals in a row in the 3rd quarter proved decisive.

Was there a field invasion when Luke Powell kicked his 50th career goal?
