nah its completely different, its done by champion data, and it is pretty complicated. basically they work out the equity of every possession as to how many goals it scores. i.e an effective kick in the forward half might translate to a goal 1/6th of the time so they give it 1 point or something like that. clangers are worth negative points because they contribute to the opposition scoring.

its pretty interesting, would love to see a full report on how they actually do it but i cant find one. the FAQ here is pretty detailed though.

I still think they do. I wasn't nesserly talking about the outcome of tonight's game more an overall view. With this being said the heights they've been I guess they had to come back to the pack at some stage.

I tell ya what, no geelong supporter should ever complain about the umpiring again, Carlton have been absolutely ripped off tonight.

Waite just laid the perfect text book tackle and somehow the umpire deemed it in the back, on top of the farcial centre bounce earlier at a critical point, a Hawkins free kick followed immediately only to have advantage paid after all Carlton players had stopped and Walker kicked the goal from a metre out.

Kelly and Enright have had plenty of it but my god do they burn it time after time and Steve Johnson just refuses to do anything that resembles team football they don't deserve to win this game and I doubt they will.

Although I have a heap of multis going on this result needing the cats to win by over 15.5 no doubt these c**ksuckers will win by 14 points or something like that.

Enright has fumbled alot tonight,

I have Carlton in one of my multi's so am hoping they can hold on. Unfortunately it means i need West Coast to beat the Hawks tomorrow to keep it going

I hope Carlton smash them now. Before the Sydney game Tredders stated on radio he thought Geelong were on the slide and he thought they were done and everyone laughed at him, 110 point loss to Sydney then what looks a loss to Carlton and maybe Tredders ain't so stupid after all.

It's all there top end talent who have let them down tonight
