Round 20 and all its trimmings

Talk on the national game

Round 20 and all its trimmings

Postby Booney » Fri Aug 08, 2014 9:18 am

Tonight :

Richmond v Essendon

Tomorrow :

GWS v North
Carlton v Gold Coast
Hawks v Melbourne

Tomorrow night :

Port V Sydney
Geelong V Fremantle

Sunday :

Brisbane
v Adelaide
Sts v Bulldogs
West Coast v Collingwood

Plenty of final 8 shaping matches to come, plenty this weekend.

Essendon look to sure up a spot in the 8, Richmond try to throw their hat in the ring, North try to get back on track,Gold Coast try to keep their chances alive, Sydney look to keep (equal) top spot, Port look for some confidence and form, Geelong try to keep top 2 alive, Fremantle want a top 4 spot, Adelaide are needing every post to be a winner, West Coast would happy to dent Collingwoods chances of September action while the 'Pies try to secure some post season action with a win over the Eags.

Big weekend of footy.
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!

I'm backing a round of upsets.

Richmond to continue their good form, North easy over GWS, Gold Coast to stamp their finals credentials with a commanding win over the Blues who have been in the spot light for all the wrong reasons the past week, and Port to cause a massive boil over to beat the Swans.

I'm liking Richmond tonite. In the past two seasons between the two sides Essendon have won the first encounter and Richmond then have won the corresponding fixture. Essendon won this game earlier in the year so......

Also, I'm thinking Sydney are going to do a demolition job on the Pairrr tomoz nite. Port's last 5-6 weeks very scratchy and virus through the club the last week. Buddy and Hanneberry back for Swans as well - Swans 40+

What are people's thoughts on WCE v Coll?? I'm leaning towards Collingwood as they travel well but WCE were good last week or where the Crows just sh!t??

I didn't think COLL were all that great last week, thought Port were terrible, so I'm leaning towards WCE at home.

If both teams play at their best tonight we should win comfortably but I fear we may have had too many changes this week and still a chance Carlisle will be a late out, if he misses I cant see us winning

All this talk about Richmond on a 5 game streak.
Richmond have beaten only GWS,Port, West Coast, Brisbane, St Kilda.
I wouldn't say any of them are travelling that great.
Essendon for me.

the last 5 clashes have had alternate winning teams between the bombers and tigers

however it is fair to say the bombers have been in better form

Probably wouldn't have been expected to beat Port, West Coast and even Brisbane, so while not ripping form, winning form is as good as it gets.

I like backing a team that has played harder opposition, win, lose or draw. I think it makes them harder at the contest early.
Port were starting to rot, WC was a swimming match, Brisbane at the MCG are crap.
Bombers have played Port at home(win) , smashed Collingwood, bulldogs(win), Sydney loss. I like that form better.
