This will be the first game in a while we may actually be a chance, with Budha declaring "its all about the AFL" im thinking he may rotate a few of these AFL players to ensure they are cherry ripe for the so called real league and maybe use it as a bit of a training run or conditioning for these players. Form for the SANFL finals is no concern for him as its not his priority!

Considering many of the AFL listed players may not even be eligible to play in the Grand Final (subject to AFL results) it could prove a prudent move to give more of the 15 contracted SANFL players a run at league level at this stage of the season. If Glenelg are considered 'league level' that is.

Really I thought they only had to paly 3 of the last 5 games or over half a season. Would say the majority that have played SANFL this year have qualified. In fact in the current list that have been playing SANFL couldnt think of one that wouldnt qualify, you may be able to name 2 being a supporter?

Kane Mitchell and Jarman Impey but yeah a lot of them would qualify by the looks of it. If the Magpies continue on in finals past the Power (ie. Power eliminated early) I think you'll find most of the SANFL only players would come into the team "on form"...and so the Power players can go off to surgery. I'd hope so anyway :P

Port guaranteed top spot and week off to start Finals unless a massive loss to Glenelg and a huge win by Sturt over South.

I wouldn't expect a whole lot of resting/rotating. Different had Port been guaranteed say second or third, but given they'll be having a week off anyway, I think we'll still be facing a pretty strong Port side. Be nice to finish with a win, but seems unlikely.

Warren must have read Footysa it appears if Mitchel and Impey play this weekend there will be 25 players qualified, three of which are injured meaning the entire team could be an AFL squad playing in the finals WOW

Really, really good four quarter performance today and a great way to farewell Ty Allen. Good see that the boys were switched on and had come to play right from the opening bounce. Port certainly tried, but not unusual to get big upsets at the end of the season and I'm not sure they were mentally switched on to the same level Glenelg were. As for Butcher, he really is completely shot!

Crowd today was 2416.

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Days like today make it all worthwhile

Rd 22 1979 comes to mind at Footy Park

Similarly Rd 5 1994 at Footy Park once again

Good team effort

As Winston Churchill once said:

Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.
