We got reamed.

Told you that they would still make a deal ;)

5/25 and Crisp is pretty good compensation

hasn't he been on the lions roster for four years and only played a handful of games???

More of a spud than a crisp?

its so hard to say with any assurance who gets the better deal when swapping established players for picks.

Crisp is a 2nd year player? thats played a handful of games for Brisbane, has some senior experience, can he break into the Pies best 22, i dunno. Then the draft picks could go either way, its up to your recruiters and development system to make that trade worthwhile.

Short term it appears Brisbane have the better deal but whose to say the next Scott Pendlebury doesnt fall to pick 5 and then you develop 25 into a 200 game player too...

Thats my view on the bullies at the moment too, if griffin wants to go then dont hold him back, source the best deal and whether that be a first round pick or if we can move GWS to let Boyd go (cos we have just seen that clubs dont always do what they say) then get it done and move on. I love Griffin and Cooney but we arent gonna win a flag in the next 3 years probably and by that time they're done anyway, our mid group is young and coming along nicely, get some quality bookends and push for a tilt in 2018.

Greenwood trade would have happened anyway.

We will delist Crisp in two years.

Be nice if we got Petracca with #5 but can't see him sliding that far.

Griffin will go to GWS for picks 4 and their third rounder, early 40s (be nice to get their second rounder but i doubt it)

Bullies will trade 4 and 6 for Saints for 1

McCartin to Bullies at 1
Petracca and Brayshaw to Dees at 2 and 3
Wright to Saints at 4
take your pick at 5 Pies

I was expecting Polec to be a bit of a bust this year. How wrong I was. Don't consider him overrated at all.

I think he was a good get by Port. He isn't a passenger, and he'll break the game open.

Agree, certainly wasn't a failure, important part of their team, but not sure he'll to ever live up his high draft pick.

I don't think he has to. What did Port give Brisbane for him? That's what he has to live up to.

True from Port's perspective, but regardless of who he plays he probably won't end up in the elite category.

He was traded to the Power in a three-way trade which involved GWS. Port exchanged pick 14 to GWS and 34 to Brisbane, in exchange Port received Polec, pick 21 from GWS and pick 45 from Brisbane.

If everyone was an elite player, there would be no elite players, coz they'd cancel each other out.

I think this whole elite speak is getting a bit manufactured. I've noticed Channel 7 pushing to make players more relevant than they should be and trying to make things a bit more dramatic.

Why can't players just be good, and get on with it?
