Redbacks 2014/15

Postby wristwatcher » Sun Oct 05, 2014 9:10 pm

Another season is upon and I sit poised with excitement at the opportunity of our first Shield title in 20 something years and possibly some 50 over success laced with some Striker supremacy.

I just checked the scores from yesterday ( can't believe it wasn't on TV or that we are playing NSW in Qld  ) and not the ideal start to associate with the pre season hype. Our 2 big 50 over ins were awful with Taity going wicket less and being very expensive whilst Mark "The Difference" Cosgrove smashed 7 off 33. Disappointing 4 wicket loss.

Hopefully we can turn it around quickly tomorrow v Vic once again at the Gabba. Does anyone know if it's on radio or streaming or is the 50 over comp a secret this year?

"The year of the Redbacks" is upon us, you can smell it in the air.

Don't want to sound negative but our one day season could be over in 72 hours. Must win tomorrow to get confidence otherwise it will be do or die already.

I agree and it's a fair play for a Redbacks fan to have a touch of negativity

Just watching Australia v Pakistan and our job is going to be a little tougher with 3 representatives from SA in the side. Richo bowled well and Boyce was bowling unplayable hand grinades snaring 2/10 off his four

I'll be watching with a bit of interest this arvo but really couldn't give a stuff if we win the Matador BBQs Cup, and could care even less about the Strikers. Just looking for some Shield success. The massive choke last year was such a disappointment!

Could not care if the Strikers never win a game in the mickey mouse comps. Shield is the only thing that matters

Couldn't give a stuff about the success of the Strikers. I'll go along and watch the games for a few beers, but success/failure holds no meaning.

Obviously I would much prefer to win the shield competition, however if the 1 day comp is there to be played, I'd like to see us win it.

Whilst it's fine to not give a stuff about the results of the Stinkers, their performance does help drive the financial success (or otherwise) of SACA.

Yeah we could be out of one of the 3 comps by the second week of October. My cock eyed optimism is being put to the test. Didn't get a chance to watch all of yesterdays game but pretty disappointing defeat.
