I played in that game too, @Arch44. Yes, Baldo is quite fiery, but a top bloke though.

I hope you guys enjoyed the night as much as we did (despite the result). I thought both clubs had a good turnout, and I personally hope it at least becomes an annual fixture.

Yes mate pretty sure every one enjoyed it. Great idea to do it on a thursday night.

I thought so too. Where did you bat/bowl?

Batted at 5 and hit Baldo for 3 4s in one over between gully and slip (only meant one of them) and bowled 2 overs late when you guys were 9 out.

So you'd have bowled at me then?

I batted at 11.

Ah ok. I bowled 2 overs at the same end as you bowled before the last wicket fell. You bowled to me as well.

You're starting to sound familiar... did you also play in the two-dayer against us at your home ground?

Get a room you two! :P

Shame on you all for not picking the Goat Herder B's to clean up the Bulldogs in the last 'real' round. :P

So how's the Carny side shaping up lads? Was expecting to see a few of ya's having a crack at picking the squad, but nahhh..

And what's the go with not fielding 2x SA sides?? Cost?? Availability?? Surely we would've been able to scrape up a 1st XI and a 2nd XI that were both competitive..?? The 2006 'Gold Members' still then remain the only 2nd XI SA side to have represented the Association at Carny level. :D

How is the association side normally picked? Is it on performance or reputation? Do players make themselves available?

Couldn't help but notice the two opening bowlers in the game against ATCA had only taken a few wickets each for their clubs and weren't even in the top 10 wickets takers at that stage

Not trying to cause trouble, just from an outsider looking in must be hard to be competitive when your rep players aren't even the best performers in the comp?

Does the coach go out and look at games?

The best players would still struggle but theyre never available together. The best team we put together imo was a T20 v para districts in a charity match which we nearly won. I recall players from our b grade and also 1 from our c grade playing rep games due to quality players not putting theyre hand up.

Disappointing but Sunday cricket isn't the most appealing thing!
Players from your B and C grade? Are you serious?? Is that for under age sides - surely not for the Senior side?
