Also heard in hq that live monkeys will be serving ice creams at all games this week

Why 3 or 4 points per win and not 2 what's the reasoning for that

I'm saying they deserve to play finals in Div 7 reserves. That's where they are. To give them an opportunity to play finals in a higher grade when we are half way through a season is rubbish. Too many clubs have worked hard to just stay alive let alone be given gimme's.
Look at Kilburn, great club and a icon in most people's eyes. Have worked hard to rid themselves of the payment stigma, good on Matty. So let's not hand out candy to those who should get salt.

I don't think North Pines chose to be placed in Div 7R, therefore they should receive some recognition for the games played so far this season.
Perhaps they could be credited with 2 or 3 wins and take their percentage up with them and make it top 5.
That would place them in the middle of the table and it would allow an extra team below them to still compete in finals so nothing lost, nothing gained for them.
I'd be able to construct a draw where everyone plays an equal amount of games without playing each other a stupid amount of times so I'm sure the league could quite easily.

Any team going up or down a grade mid season is ridiculous. If Nth Pines were getting smashed every week this wouldn't even be an issue. How many people would complain outside of Nth Pines club that they shouldn't be there if they were getting smashed?!

there is probably 2 or 3 bottom sides in C4 who wont play finals or even make finals so let them be the in div 7R comp the league can offer them some discounts like umpire fees paid for by north pines and salisbury west

im sure the league could put in place measures to cover all angles

No side is ever going to agree to that, and i hardly can see North Pines/Salisbury West being keen to fork out extra $$ to pay for another clubs umpires.

why should a club have to agree salisbury west And north pines are some of the teams that caused the bye the league should tell them what to do not let these clubs who are run by nubs pick and choose where they play or how many teams they field

you are kidding yourself if you think Kilburn have recruited all those players, and they are all not getting paid, whelan left brahma lodge because he did not like what he saw after 2 training sessions, then went out to the country for money in stead of going back to help Kilburn last year.

Comparing Kilburn last year to this year is like comparing apples to potatoes.

Right so a side that is getting pumped in C4 should just go get pumped in 7R because you dont want a bye in 7R?

If i had a side that was playing C4 that was forced to go up i would pull that side from competition.. i think it's incredibly insulting and disrespectful for that side to be used like that to satsify the needs of a few.

Also, just saying, C3 has 11 teams and a bye. If this (fairly preposterous idea) would come to pass I would have thought a C3 side would be far more fit for purpose.

Yeah it's a real pickle.

If only someone, somewhere, somehow saw it coming before the start of year. Damn.

And just quietly, these are the sorts of lack of vision, strategic thought and foresight type problems you run into with a delegate based administration system.

Mate, North Pines wouldn't have even known what was going to present itself this season, they had lost a few decent players and their team could've had a 60 goal variance in it.

And yet, this black duck said as soon as the schedule was released that North Pines would be dominant.

I'm not tooting my own horn, you only have to be a bit versed in the lower levels of the amateur league to know that if they got put in D7R, they would win a lot of games, a lot of their players would all of a sudden be keen and it would snowball.

It was common sense LM, everyone down here knew it....

Having said all that I am hoping that Houghton can get a bit of clear air and get some good-uns back in which will bolster their depth and in turn their reserves and give North Pines a red hot shake come finals time.

before the start of the season the league had 2 months to figure out div 3/6/7 they took the easy way and did byes

north pines would have known before the start of year that the numbers would be poor having only 8 turn up to train and not even trainning some nights then salisbury west the best liars in the comp kept telling the league they had the numbers to field 2 teams got caught out and could only field 1 side

when i looked in a messenger a while back salisbury west made a big song and dance about have 60 on the books where are they im guessing 90 percent are at a retirement village playing scrabble

It's fair enough, you have a legitimate case, the SAAFL were in a logistical nightmare and probably thought it was in the best interest of the competition to not have so many byes in the reserves.

Getting Sam Dietrich will boost the stocks for sure as long as they keep him interested.

When the fellas got wind of it, they were pretty upset at the prospect of not getting another crack at North Pines.
