Biggest game of the year for us so far Q. Finals is way past our thoughts at the minute, we are as the great quote goes 'one game at a time' but if we put our A grade game together for 4 quarters then who knows. The group is still gelling and getting to know what we can do as a team. Rome wasn't built in a day but it did get built. :)

I reckon the game will be played in two halves, the best team on the day will win and it wont be over until the fat lady sings.

big turn around for us this week, b grade sneaking home for the win, A-grade going down by 17 but in a tight contest. Was much more enjoyable football to watch compared to the stuff we dished up last week.

Was maybe 4 or 5 different lads who had were mostly unavailable due to work, and the few guys that came in had been away last week or sick. One new lad who joined the club provided a massive spark with his attack on the ball as well. But unlike last week we came out looking like we wanted to play football

Great game yesterday for Mitchell Park. I've seen flashes of how good our team could be all season, but it finally gelled yesterday. There was a lot more confidence, talking to each other, and just the basic intuition of knowing who to kick to, which is something you can't attain until you've been playing as a team for a while. I'm sure there's a better term for it; I'm not great at expressing this stuff, but it comes down to consistency. When you've got mostly the same 21 blokes lining up each week and coming out on the training track, you start getting somewhere. I will say that the umpires seemed inexplicably biased in our favour during the second half. But the odd wrong umpiring decision is only worth one or two goals. If you need the umpires to win your game then you don't deserve to win it. What I noticed most was how good we were in the contests, which has been the biggest stumbling block in past games. I'll be interested to see how we go against St Paul's again because they were a really physical side, more so than anyone else we've played.

Which reminds me, we play them at home next week under lights, so if anyone's interested in a game of night footy, you ought to come on down for a gander and a beverage. :D
