Absolutely, I just think a few really stood up and there was a fair gap to the next group as far as input went.

A lot of people are saying that the Dogs lost the game due to bad kicking but in the end the Crows were good enough to grind out and find away to win when the opposition were killing us in almost every stat. Good sides just find ways to win, especially after going 8 points down late in the last, hopefully a trend that can continue into next year and beyond. We just kept responding when tested which was great to watch, led by Rory Sloane IMO.

Dogs were very impressive and even quicker watching them live, there pace really killed us at times but when we were able to slow them up they turned it over and we capitalised. The Bont and there mids killed our mids in clearances, luckily our backline stood up massively after the first few minutes.

Everyone is focusing on how good Tex and Betts were (which they were) but Riley Knight come of age, his best game of AFL and what a game to do it in! Tex delivering when it counted in a massive final.

Hawks are a champion side and will respond, however they are at their most vulnerable for many years this week so I think we should go in with an air of confidence, however, our mids need to stand up and our tackling needs to improve for us to be a chance.

I agree with this statement..... the Hawks were rattled early by West Coast and never really got going.... Just had a look at the head to head Adelaide Vs Hawthorn and the Hawks have won the last 6 games. The last time the Crows got over the Hawks was round one March 26th - 2011. I hope like hell we respond to that poor performance in the West.... If the Crows can repeat the way they played on Saturday night..... well I don't even want to think about it!

I'm sure it wouldn't happen, but I wonder if there's anyone at West Lakes considering JPod as a replacement for Jenkins against the Hawks? Think he offers more in the ruck, more around the ground, has delivered against the Hawks before and has been in good nick up forward in the reserves. Think the Hawks will clamp down harder on Betts particularly but also Walker, meaning the Crows have virtually no chance if Jenkins doesn't deliver. Like I said I'm sure it won't happen, but food for thought perhaps?

Jenkins as been great for the second half of the season. He was down on the w/end but not down enough to drop him after one poor game

Yeah that's fair and I don't disagree with it .. He's probably the X-Factor type you need to have a chance, just reckon he's deplorable as a spelling Ruckman and whilst JPod gives away height he competes well. Like I said, never expected it would happen just wonder if it's been a thought at all among the brains trust.

Probably more a sign of the potent nature of Adelaide's forward half as well as the natural match ups the Dogs had.

Lynch was a perfect match up for Wood and he duly beat Lynch, Morris and Boyd were regularly peeling off their opponent to help out Richards on Jenkins. So focus on two and two others do some real damage.

Having said that, I don't think the Dogs boast as much defensive ability in the midfield as Hawthorn nor do they have a Lake, Gibson, Birchall or Burgoyne in the back half.

I tell you what though, if you're a Crow forward and James Frawley comes to you this week you've every right to feel insulted. The Hawks obviously don't rate you if Frawley is your man! He's gone from ok in a shite side to shite in a good side.

I don't understand how he is getting a game in front of Spangher..... while Spangher is no champ, he is in front of Frawley. Perhaps we are playing Frawley as it would be too embarrassing to bring him in as a free agent and send him to Box Hill -

Pods has never really played in the ruck at AFL level, at least for the crows. Maybe can ruck in the forward line a bit, but the days of a "forward line ruck" are over because those stoppages are so important nowadays, so even Jenkins rarely rucks in the forward line.

And again, I think Jenkins has been judged incredibly harshly.

That was his first goalless game for the whole year.

And since round 13, this is his output - 2,2,3,3,2,2,3,1,6,1,0. That is great going for your third best foward.

I like Jenkins he offers a bit and comes across as a poor man's Tippett. Pretty mobile for a 6'6" guy too. But J-Pod has been in sensational form in the SANFL, 20 goals in last 2 games of the season I think so if given a chance you would have to think some of that would translate.

Robran had more ability I think, Jenkins the better athlete and physical specimen. Wasn't trying to knock the bloke by the way, as BM has said his numbers stack up fairly well.

Biglands no where near as potent up forward. What I'm saying is that Jenkins can be inconsistent, but when on can be very hard to stop. Just like Robran.

I wonder if Scott Burns is into the Adelaide job. From memory he was one of the last ones with Walsh in the race, anyone else remember that?

Perhaps his alignment to Worsfold could be advantageous in keeping Worsfold here?

If Worsfold stays, Campo stays and the structure would stay the same I would think. The only thing that might change that and bring someone like Burns over would be a Roos/Goodwin type of arrangement IMO

I heard Brian "Pigslob" Taylor say Campo has been average today. I may be in the wrong thread but that guy is a piece of crap.

Campo has been great for mine

Brian Taylor was a good media personality before he let the commercial bullshit get to him which happens to all channel 7 commentators. Channel 7's match day commentary is embarresing.
