Pakistan vs New Zealand 3rd Test Sharjah

Pakistan were 3/281 coming into this day; they lost their last 7 wickets for 70; Craig taking 7/94 and Mohammad Hafeez out for 197. The innings took 125.4 overs.

New Zealand are 1/164 after 25 overs at tea. McCullum scoring the fastest century for NZ and is 100 off 78; Williamson going at a run a ball 44.

It's fair to say I think New Zealand are just playing this match on instinct today; it's working for them but I don't think it's at all satisfying.

690 all out; 22 sixes in total. NZ highest score, beating 8/680 dec vs India earlier this year. 2nd highest score by anyone against Pakistan, the highest was by the West Indies when Sobers hit 365* in 1957/58 out of 3/790 dec

And Pakistan are 1/13, still 326 behind

It's almost like no one cares about this at the moment - particularly the players.

This approach may have something for teams to think about in the future - play like you don't care - because it's working. Pakistan are 3/24 now

Brendan McCullum came out & said as much.

"Our focus at the moment is not on our performances, it is all about Phil," McCullum said. "We are heartbroken for Phil's family, Greg, Virginia, Megan and Jason. No one should go through what you guys are going through right now. "We are reaching out to Phil's family, Michael Clark and the Australian boys, medical staff, fans, all who have been affected by Phil's passing."

I really hope the Australian public give NZ a standing ovation if they end up playing a WC game in Aus

They have been extremely classy

I agree 100% with that.
Politicians kissing babies for good luck,
TV preachers sell salvation for a buck.
You don't need no golden cross to tell you wrong from right,
The world's worst murderers were those who saw the light.

NZ win by an innings and 80 runs; Craig gets 10 wickets for the match. 35 sixes in the match, which is also another record. Apart from the fireworks from Shafiq, days 2, 3 and 4 were a complete domination for NZ.

Appears to be the last Test for Vettori too, with his family there and McCullum letting him go first off the ground.

It was his first since 2012, because they wanted to play three spinners, guessing he will retire again
