I think its a real tricky one for you guys, as a number of them have been fantastic servants of your club..... Would like to see one of the younger SA boys drafted recently get a game but he has not cracked one just yet. Been close, but had an injury setback I think, that has played a part....Interested on your take on that as well... do they start getting games into the young blokes REB?
Lightning McQueen wrote:Interesting point, one that was made on Fox the other night, some players should get the luxury to call it a day where some get told, Geelong have many in this category, you wouldn't want a mass exodus in the same year, they are going to have to push some out the door unfortunately.

Bartel
Kelly
Mackie
Enright
Stokes
Lonergan
Taylor
Stevie J
Rivers

Sorry, I'm not REB.
That's true.... I am interested in a Cats fans take on it... some good players on that list. My guess is they put a line through say 3 or 4 of those blokes, and start bringing the kids through..... REB?

They will get rid of McIntosh,Rivers and Stokes, Enright may walk, which will give SJ another year.
Then the following year Bartel,SJ will go.

I think Steve J will be the one to be tapped on the shoulder. He's still had some impact in games from time to time this year but in general, he can't bend down to pick it up anymore, has looked off the pace and a little fumbly because of the other two things happening to him.

McIntosh, Stokes, Johnson and maybe Rivers will go.

Then Kelly, Enright, Bartel and Mackie.

I agree, he's really fallen out of favour for me, it wasn't long ago that he was first picked in my dream team and I'd always put a sly little bet on him for the Brownlow despite knowing he could brain fart at any time.

What is he worth you reckon?

Is a top 10 pick too high?

I was thinking that too, but I don't think they would accept the crows second pick which would be in the 25-28 range

^ please correct me if I am wrong, but why would the crows chase Motlop, you have E. Betts - same/similar role?

Kelly has looked slow for years. Got tired of watching small forwards run away from him.

Motlop plays much further up the ground and would be a midfielder more than a forward now I would think

Because Betts will be 29 when next season starts, Motlop will be 24....that's the only reason I can see. Other than that, I don't think Motlop is for Adelaide.

One of those guys that started off as a forward due to a lack of running ability. Probably plays as a mid-forward now rather than a pure small forward.

I'm trying to think of someone else similar. Maybe Martin and Deledio?

Out of interest I finally worked out how to get the heat maps (got afl live pass for free for filling out a survey)

Was surprised at how much of a mid Motlop was tbh.

So Motlop gets cheap kicks out the back now, probably half the reason Geelong are going backwards at a rate of knots

Can you update my post count REB, cheers
